Shawn T (us) wrote: Much less awful than I expected it to be. An intensely funky score, occasional bits of poorly-delivered clever dialogue, but the film is not without its narrative flaws. It takes about an hour to get to what really should be the turning point of the first act. And the character of Clint needs to be made more sympathetic. Also, there aren't nearly enough bitches running to justify calling the move Run! Bitch Run!

Diego B (kr) wrote: The first time i saw this film I thought that this "art movie" was just the excuse of Reygadas to film a porn movie, or at least to shock the audience using explicit and grotesque sex scenes. Maybe some of that is true into the easy way to impact (in a desperate way) the audience. But on a second view, I can tell the characters and scenarios are shocking because they are very raw, they looked like monsters because they are very close to be real (the actors were not professional, and actually Marcos is the real driver of Reygadas himself). The idea of two different worlds defined by social classes, and only joined in a blow job, is interesting but flat and not very well done. There is a sign on the whole film that Reygadas pretends to criticize -and to find some kind of redemption by this-- the high class world he belongs and he comes from, trying to see from his top point of view the other side of Mexican society and the conflicts within it. And he fails. The music and the audio design is excellent, as well as some sequence shots.

Ashley H (jp) wrote: Many of the songs are very well done and enjoyable, especially Nancy Kwan's "I Enjoy Being a Girl." All the actors are fabulous and the lines are a ball. Not only is it a love story but a great tale of modern versus the traditional values. It is absolutely suitable for all ages.

Iven S (es) wrote: Ummm,..... This ain't a comedy., , ok perhaps 10 yrs ago this was considered funny., but this ain't funny. I stumbled across this, spotted Cameron Diaz & Toni Colette, thought,... Yeah let's watch something 'Lite', something I don't have to think about ,... But this ain't that. This movie is one of those, you-need-to-treat-people-better movies, you know the ones...., the ones that make you remember all those times you fought or judged people for being flawed & human. Oh yeah..., you know what I'm talking about.... this ain't a comedy.
