Leo L (us) wrote: spanish subtitled.. eerie, yet amusing

Tavip T (au) wrote: They could make the movie shorter. I enjoy Jiang Wen's performance, a great actor and a very clever ending.

Tim B (mx) wrote: A refreshing look at life in modern urban India. While this movie isn't groundbreaking or unflinching, it is somewhat an antidote to the reams of Bollywood fairy floss.

Megan M (fr) wrote: Strange and Unusual movie. You will not soon forget this movie.

Eric C (kr) wrote: Great music-weird story, very trippy

Paul D (us) wrote: Romantic coming-of-age period drama with some quirky elements thrown in. There's nothing spectacular about this storyline but it's well made.

Justin L (br) wrote: Bad acting and a plot that's not very believable, but it was amusing to watch at 4:00am when I couldn't sleep.

Kevin C (us) wrote: In the same vein as classic projects like "The Greatest Gift"/"It's A Wonderful Life", the movie "Meet Joe Black" seeks to remind audiences of what it means to live a truly happy life.Brad Pitt's performance is perfectly bizarre and eery. The highlight of the film. The story, in my opinion, was fine until the end. I also question whether or not the overall message of the movie would more easily sink in if it wasn't wrapped in Bill Parrish's billionaire lifestyle of super-sized mansions and privilege. This aspect of his character seems to make the service of the message easier, but not more powerful or relatable.Overall, the film is good (albeit, oddly lengthy) and Brad Pitt's performance/character is definitely worth the cost of a movie rental.

Eliabeth C (it) wrote: hilarious and empowering

Hannah D (us) wrote: I've never known a film starring Meryl Streep not to be watchable, and this was an enjoyable drama about an actress battling with an addiction to the demon drink. The scene at the beginning was very clever, which turned out to be a scene being acted, rather than as part of the film that we were watching!

Peter W (ag) wrote: Hector still creeps me out

Joa G (ru) wrote: An Ingmar Bergman underrated masterpiece that paved a road for films like Zulawski's "Possession" and Lynch's "Mulholland Drive" just to name a few. It deals with love and the decay of it showing how abusive relationships and how our personal demons possess us and our respective partners in the most terrible ways.

Christine R (de) wrote: Good movie with some twists which keep it interesting. Ann Sheridan is great. Funny to see Ronald Reagan young and being kept down by the man. Also interesting to see how lack of FDIC and disability could destroy someone at the turn of the century. We've come a long way. The intro to psychiatry as seen as a medical field is crazy. You do get a great sense of progress. I always love Claude Rains.

Samuel H (gb) wrote: Heartbreaking. Everyone who's over 20 understands what these kids have gone through when they lose a dream. Certainly worth a watch. Not a masterpiece though. Very depressing.

Alex K (nl) wrote: I'm Still Getting Movies On DVD.
