Sausage Party

Sausage Party

Sausage Party, the first R-rated CG animated movie, is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store.

The products at Shopwell's Grocery Store are made to believe a code that helps them live happy lives until it's time for them to leave the comfort of the supermarket and head for the great beyond. However, after a botched trip to the great beyond leaves one sausage named Frank and his companion Bun stranded, Frank goes to great lengths (pun intended) to return to his package and make another trip to the great beyond. But as Frank's journey takes him from one end of the supermarket to the other, Frank's quest to discover the truth about his existence as a sausage turns incredibly dark. Can he expose the truth to the rest of the supermarket and get his fellow products to rebel against their human masters? . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

This flick just like 'Into the West' has all the romantic elements associated with this ethnic minority group in the movies and tries and fails to produce the gritty realism of the excellent documentary 'Knuckle'. The end result is a complete and utter piece of shit of a film. One of the worst films that I have ever seen was 2007's Strength and Honor which is also based in this world and King of Travellers isn't that far away from matching it. Preditcable with shit actors, annoying characters and a terrble storline. However, it does have one classic moment when rival family post their taunting video online to a montage of Europe's Final Countdown.

The movie was made directly as a low budget answer to E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, which was the biggest movie in the world at that time. Originally a Spanish film, it was distributed and redubbed by Film Ventures for US territories. It's definitely not a very good film, and lacks little to no tension whatsoever. The scenes with the kid and the alien are totally horrible and gut-wrenching to watch because of the dubbing. They go so far as to rip off the Reese's Pieces bit from E.T., but instead using Planter's Peanuts. It was featured on one of the best episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 ever, but the movie is still pretty terrible. There's some unintentional humor in it on its own, but hardly enough.
