Zoran S (es) wrote: Two-thirds of this are very good and reflect why Hsiao-hsien is such a wonderful director: formal experimentation, painterly compositions, and marvelously reflective pacing. The last story does not really work as well as the others and comes off as a bit generic (which I realize may be one of the points it is trying to make) in its tale of technology-driven urban alienation.

Javis C (kr) wrote: I liked it whan I was a kid, but only when I was a kid, today I don't like it as when I was a kid. Perhaps this is one of those movies that are made only for children, but only for CHILDREN.

Mereie d (gb) wrote: Normally, one doesn??t expect a straight-up gangster movie with a waver-thin plot to excel in the artistic imagery category. ??Prime Cut?? is an exception, though. The story pertains to little more than two groups of gangsters (Chicago mafia versus Kansas rednecks) falling out over an unpaid debt and the ensuing aggressive actions from either side. The strength of ??Prime Cut?? is in its interesting imagery concerning the meat-processing industry (in this respect this movie is enough to turn anyone into a vegetarian) and the crop fields of Kansas. The scene with the harvesting machine is famous, but the one in the sunflower field is equally beautiful, as is the one at the farm fair (with the loud, unsubtle music and the feigned atmosphere of cheerfulness). Most striking perhaps (and most disgusting at the same time) are the shots in the abattoir and the meat factory. All of a sudden, the sordidness of the meat industry is thrown into our faces, with the ??cattle?? market as its nauseating climax. Not much else to say about this mediocre, yet amusing crime flic, except for the excellent choice of music and the commendable acting qualities of Gene Hackman, Lee Marvin and last but not least a very young Sissy Spacek.

Andrew U (gb) wrote: From Russia with Love highlights espionage above all else; secret agent 007 with an emphasis on secret. There are enough fight scenes to keep us entertained and enough clever dialogue to keep us invested. It's a brilliant spy thriller all around.

Logan M (au) wrote: Its original story but familiar charm make "Broadway Danny Rose" unlike any other Woody Allen movie, but at the same time, not all that different.

Eliabeth H (jp) wrote: This movie was about a girl who reinacts crimes very well. My human wanted to watch this because it was "Thai" or some asian persuasion. I liked the cinematography. I don't know what that is, but I liked it. It was hella boring with good violent scenes put in between. I thought I knew what was going on though. The main girl sees ghosts a lot. It WAS creepy. I didn't like the scary parts but my human did. The actress girl kinda becomes another girl who was real pretty but dead. My human loved the creepy Thai dance scene with the ghost. I thought it was ok. There were a lot of cool bloody scenes. I think Asians have less murder because they are scared of ghosts. I know I am after watching this movie. I don't want to ruin the movie because it has a very big twist. Things aren't really like I thought they were. There was some girl on girl insinuations. This movie tricks you because it totally changes half way through. This movie had some of the best subtitles EVER! Heres some samples: "I never been fainted before" "She got an epilepsy." "I don't think you had an epilepsy." This whole movie was a mind screw. The cool pretty ghost OWNS this movie. I think the people who made this movie FOR REAL believe in ghosts. The moral of this movie is to be nice to ghosts and they wont hurt you but if you insult them, they WILL make blood come out of you real bad. I loved the cultural ending. I give this 3 and a half stars for entertaining me, I didn't feel stupid cuz I kinda knew what was going on. Pretty scary Asian flick! No checklist cuz it only had violence. I usually dont like these kind of movies with no boobies, but this one was ok.
