David W (fr) wrote: Dull, boring and derivative. Theres little action and almost no gore. That is until the last 15 minutes when it all goes gore crazy and hits you with all it's good ideas and fairly unique nightmarish visuals. Literal rivers of blood flow across the screen, people are torn limb from limb, impaled and dis-embowelled in graphic practical FX glory! Why was there not more of that all the way through? That last 15 minutes could have been the frame for an insanely good low budget horror fest instead of all the shit you have to swim through to get there!

Richard H (au) wrote: REVIEW: "FEUX ROUGES" ("Red Lights", 2004) - Great French thriller. Boozing husband threatened by his wife's more successful career embarks on a voyage that becomes a road trip to hell when his wife mysteriously vanishes. Gorgeous Debussy soundtrack.

Thomas N (fr) wrote: Unlike everybody else I actually enjoyed this film as a child and still enjoy it to this day. We get King Kong back in action, a female Kong (which I like to call Queen Kong), and in the end we even get the son of Kong. King Kong eats people, squashes people, annihilates an army! What more could a person ask for? I think people just had too high of expectations when going into this film. I think much of its criticism also comes from the fact that its not realistic enough. Hello!!!! Its a movie with giant apes its not going to be realistic.I personally would have loved to have seen a third one of course with the title Son Of Kong.

Jesse K (jp) wrote: I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I liked it more than Re-Animator.

William W (kr) wrote: This was remarkable and scared the crap out of me. I read the book eons ago, probably 1988, for a first-year university class back when I was earning my first degree. Not a Burt Reynolds fan, and having only seen two other works by Boorman (the great 'Point Blank' and the not-so-great 'Exorcist II: The Heretic'), I wasn't in a huge hurry to rush out and see the film. BIG mistake on my part, to be frank.Probably the gifted 83-year-old, Surrey native and five-time Oscar nominee's best work--and easily the finest work ever done by Reynolds, shortly before he simply rested on his laurels and became nothing but a caricature. THIS at the very least was proof that he at one time actually had chops and could act.The scariest aspect of all is that this goes on all the time and we just don't know about it. Hundreds of people go 'missing' every day. And, as a Canadian, it's people like the culprits in this film that are responsible for America now having the worst Presidential candidate of all time actually having a chance of being the head of the most powerful country in the world. Now THAT's scary.

Orlok W (es) wrote: Good cast, strong plot in solid Chan mystery--Saboteurs and poisonous gas!!

Matt D (es) wrote: Pretty gay for an action movie, repetitious, uninteresting. If it got anymore fake it wouldve been shot in my back yard, garage, and local hotel. The acting was about par, if par was junior high drama class.

Tatsuhito K (jp) wrote: Starts out as a melodrama with an implausible plot, but then turns into a fun B-movie. Out of Time is overall silly, but also effectively suspenseful and Denzel Washington carries the film with his star power.
