Brendan N (jp) wrote: plays like a david wain film but can't stick the landing. I laughed a little but there is more misses than successes. looking forward to hollidaysburg to see the dramatic version of the same script.

David J (ag) wrote: "Simon Killer" is a character study that had the potential to be disturbing, but settled for eerie and a tad unconvincing, despite a great performance from Brady Corbet who plays the titular sociopath.

Timothy S (de) wrote: I'm not sure where "Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour" came from because there were no trailers, no advance notice and no screenings. It just showed up in a couple of theaters for a week, and then it disappeared as quickly as it came. Apparently, pre-teen girls know who Sarah is because she's the star of a popular series of mystery novels for young adults, and as her film debut closes she hints at more movies to come. But if the box office receipts for this one are any indication, this is the one and only Landon film we're likely to see and because of that, movie lovers everywhere should rejoice. It's not so much a bad film as it is a bland and forgettable one with a lackluster cast. Considering how many surnames that appear more than once throughout the credits, nepotism was running rampant here. But it's also a shining example of why hiring your family may not help your film any. Newcomer Rissa Walters stars as Sarah, and she's a pretty enough girl but is seriously lacking in screen presence. The script is real goody-goody despite a few mature details of the story, and that helps to make the film a little more bearable. The unintentional laughs also help, but not enough. The central mystery that makes up the movie's plot is not totally without interest, but in the same respect, it could have easily been lifted from a decades-old Nancy Drew book or a mediocre "Scooby Doo" episode. "Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour" is a curious film that is no better or worse than the recent big-budget "Nancy Drew" film. Anybody other than pre-teen girls should have something better to do.

Robert O (ag) wrote: These movies are raunchy comedies... which at times appears to be soft-core porn... which is sort of okay at times!

Eva B (mx) wrote: This was my first encounter with Asterix as I've never read the comic version. Makes me kinda interested to see how different they are. Quality of animation was ok, but not my favourite style.

Sara P (jp) wrote: Very good movie, gets slow in some parts so don't watch too late at night. Great cast very worth while...

melody m (br) wrote: Sorry, as interested as I was to see how they would reinterpret the Bard, I couldn't sit through this....I got bored. :(

Tiberio S (au) wrote: It may try to be more than it is and deceive the audience by seeming 'weird,' but it's great to look at.Tonally, it's the silliest Coen Brothers movie I've ever seen, but something about that retelling Homer's Odyssey makes it all the more satisfying, as if we dare to blasphemize a classic and get a failing grade in English class.

Ummay B (fr) wrote: Reminiscence of my childhood! I watched the movie because Kajol and SRK are in it!

Jon B (fr) wrote: Strange film, Geoffrey Wright's follow-up to Romper Stomper. Can't explain why, but I just like it.

Jet B (ru) wrote: A Jewish romance/love story, with a lot of schmaltz. Who couldn't love the pickle man?!

Archer F (ca) wrote: A great buddy cop action comedy film.

Marshall L (it) wrote: Not much to say here: Charleton Heston chews the scenery as Edward G. Robinson looks on, occasionally providing the proper shock and awe. The plot is thin but serviceable, and the production design looks like they shot it on Brooklyn street corner in '73. Still, the film merits multiple viewings: one where you don't know the ending and one where you do.

Brody M (au) wrote: 1 of John Waynes worst.I couldnt sit through the whole thing

EWC o (gb) wrote: Awesome acting, though the final shootout is anticlimactic and the dubbing can throw you off. The action scenes are intense

Appu B (br) wrote: The father tells the story about the relationship of a son and his step father. A film set in the very familiar Majid Majidi environment.
