Erin C (kr) wrote: I think Josie Davis is a terrible actress - she always acts like a ditzy airhead. However, the story was pretty creepy and entertaining. With a better leading lady, this could've been better.
Scott S (fr) wrote: Directing was average - the cinematography was beautiful but was used too much as filler. Writing was average yet the 2 fine leads made the script work. I'm not religious so the story did not resonate but the actors made the situation believable. All that said, I would highly recommend the movie based on the lead acting alone. The sex scene was one of the most believable and intimate scenes I've seen in a gay themed movie - you actually felt that they were dealing with their first time in lieu of lurid sex.

Follows four Toronto high school seniors and their attempts to find anything to identify with--film, rock band, drugs, girls, commume, etc. Provides an interesting glimpse of Canadiana from that era. Shamelessly released to video in 1987 as VIRGIN TERRITORY with a misleading box cover suggesting a teen sex film.

Larry K (fr) wrote: Classic neo Noir film! Has all of the requisite elements. NYC is there in all of its gritty glory, however the film could have used more shots of the side streets and alleyways at night, for good measure. However, the film feels authentic New York. Great soundtrack, engaging characters, sympathetic protagonist, suspense, and a story that is nothing out of the ordinary, but is different enough none the less. Do not understand the negative reviews. Perhaps if you are looking for something incredible you may not be thrilled, but if you are a fan of the genre, you will thoroughly enjoy this film.
