All of the Justice League members looked very original and I thought it was also interesting how Batman's plans targeted each Justice League member's psychological and psychical weaknesses and in the event of Any Justice League member going to the other side! Very cool storyline for the movie how each Justice League member is put in severe danger simultaneously and can only be saved by Batman while always preparing for the unexpected but not for the unthinkable!
(jp) wrote: Exquisitely directed and acted, with an amazing Tilda Swinton perfectly conveying the discovery of love, this is a beautiful and sumptuous Italian drama that brings to mind the aesthetic and narrative style of Luchino Visconti, growing in a crescendo towards a glorious, explosive end.

(nl) wrote: Howard Zieff's spiffy direction keeps the film on its feet, despite a few rather lengthy digressions. Goldie Hawn's venture in producing her own film is actually a double feature - one is a frequently funny tale of an innocent who is conned into joining the US Army and her adventures therein; the other deals with the same innocent's personality problems as a Jewish princess with only an intermittent chuckle to help out. Goldie Hawn gives a charming, Oscar-nominated performance in this lightly feminist service comedy. The last reel, in which Judy Benjamin has a romantic affair with a smooth Frenchman (aith Armand Assante) is weak and distracting, but the first hour of the picture is funny, poignant, and vastly entertaining. Military mockery featuring Hawn as a spoiled princess in army boots. Private Benjamin deserves combat pay for its slaphappy fish-out-of-water premise...a real hoot-and-a-half. VERDICT: "High-Quality Stuff" - [Positive Reaction] This is a rating to a movie I view as very entertaining and well made, and definitely worth paying the full price at a theatre to see or own on DVD. It is not perfect, but it is definitely excellent. (Films that are rated 3.5 or 4 stars)
(gb) wrote: Cole Porter wrote one of his best movie scores for this highly entertaining MGM musical; the songs include "Rap-Tap On Wood," "I've Got You Under My Skin" and "Easy to Love" (introduced by James Stewart!); the spectacular finale features Eleanor Powell performing "Swingin' the Jinx Away" aboard a battleship.
(it) wrote: Yeah, this wasn't really a good movie at all and the ending was just weird. I'm not sure if this concept was tried before this film, but it was just awkward. Overall, pretty boring and Boris just plays an old annoying whiney father who is incapable of listening to anyone.
(br) wrote: After a 747 gets hijacked by a group of terrorist and has enough explosives to blow the whole eastern seaboard a group of soldiers get on board the plane to stop the terrorists and undetonate the bombs or the president has no other choice but to blow the plane up with the terrorists and 400 others on the plane. Loaded with tons of great actors and enough action and excitement this is definitely a great action movie. Star powered with the likes of Kurt Russell, Halle Berry, John Leguizamo, Oliver Platt, and even Steven Seagull are all on it this terrific and thrilling movie. movie's like these that are edge of your seat exciting and have action throughout it are the best. And this movie is the ticket if that is what you enjoy watching.
(gb) wrote: A visually stunning, grim and darker as dark fantasy tale that offers an unusual clash of Native Americans and Vikins, a fierce conflict that has not really been covered by too many films and / or stories and probably took not place in the fashion as depicted in the film, but still an interesting approach. The depicition of the brutish vikins is skewed a tad to represent the horror they evoke in the eyes of the Native American people and the victims of their mighty broadswords, hence, they serve as the flesh-ripping demons from beyond the sea, rather, than a fully fledged part of a two-way conflict. All in all, that is fine by me, it just makes the film lope to one side and turns into a survival-action hybrid more than a tale of two cities. I never had Karl Urban put down as a bulky action star and I guess he never really came to be known as such, so I found it a bit odd to see him doing the Conan in this one, but he did a good job, even though it consists mostly of looking pissed off and taking names. Yet, many of the actors are actual Native Americans, that is, descendants of the same and that makes for some great atmosphere and general mood. The rest is a stakkato of sword-fights, sneaking past the enemies, psychological warfare as a prisoner, a spot-on medieval-slasher road movie that ticks all the boxes, follows some clichess but keeps dripping psychedelic blurts of creativity into a stale script, keeping it interesting and gritty. Good entertainment that drags on a bit towards the end. The visuals and landscapes are a high point and support a thoroughly good film.
