Michael M (jp) wrote: If you like the Muppets and you dug the first "revival" movie you'll like this one too. Great cast, some funny moments, a few good song and dance numbers...and there you have it. I enjoyed this movie.

Dinesh P (ag) wrote: the film starts with a very nice premise that few girls want to be extra good in their lives. But after a point of time the premise does not go anywhere. and film tumbles.

Ashley D (mx) wrote: This is movie is the personification of being dumb is not automatically funny.

Soham G (es) wrote: It's hard to carry the premise of a slapstick comedy past the 30 minute mark and not have it descend into just people chasing each other and knocking into things.

Jesse L (br) wrote: watched this in school back when i was in grade 6. The Dude always abides. i should watch this again...so maybe this doesnt count? ah fuck it dude.

Carlos M (es) wrote: It is remarkable how this film turned out to be so superb and profound despite all the many cuts and re-edits it went through in post-production, surprising us with its direction, editing and two exceptional central performances - especially William Hurt, who deserved the Oscar he won.

Kevin C (au) wrote: Movie night with Iris. The best of the Carry On's in my opinion, and love it that it still amuses Iris 40+ years on.

Scott S (kr) wrote: Gentleman Jim (1942) -- [6.5] -- Errol Flynn plays a banker who takes up boxing and makes it all the way to a climactic match against the heavyweight champion of the world. "Gentleman Jim" is more entertaining than I imagined, thanks to Flynn's persistent charm and healthy doses of wit and humor. Alan Hale returns to Flynn's side, this time playing his proud papa, while Alexis Smith takes over the leading lady duties. She's no De Havilland, but she holds her own in a romantic subplot that is unusually tolerable for the time. The film's main problem is that Flynn's character never encounters much hardship, neither in the act two crisis nor the climax itself. Things are just too easy for him. But that is decidedly the spirit of the film, and it's nonetheless entertaining. I especially enjoyed the seaside boxing match, a scene featuring an impressive set built around a tank of water with hordes of actors positioned on three different levels -- the mainland, a recessed dock, and a schooner ship.

Paul P (fr) wrote: Underrated by many. Great fantasy film for the time. Love watching it no matter how much time has passed

Christina R (mx) wrote: I thought it was really cute and had some good litte funny scenes!

Larry Y (ag) wrote: It took seven directors to make this crapfest combo of sword & sorcery and early cyberpunk. Notable only for Blackie Lawless turning into Richard Moll
