(us) wrote: This film really is quite a mess. Essentially I have no idea what it is trying to be or say. The first half is rather intriguing, as the viewer is forced to study the odd relationship between Argento and Madsen. Assayas does a good job with this part of the film, revealing little things about their relationship as the film goes on. The film just goes completely downhill in the second half pretty much becoming this generic internationally thriller. Argento really does do a good job, trying to hold the film together, but its really just not possible. I must say, its quite surprising for Olivier Assayas to be this far off...
(ca) wrote: Given all the star power that Even Money can boast, the movie is flat, and almost painfully flat in places. And while the full reasons why seems to evade you through most of this film, it remains obvious that somehow the execution of what one thought was a promising idea failed. Given that it takes you until about an hour into the movie to realize amongst all the talk nothing has really happened, you can't help but feel that one should want to find a way to enjoy this movie. But with more then a few t.v. movie performances and a story that feels like it is forced, it is very easy to forget the little that this film has to offer. There have been a few high class gambling movies that have been done with style and flare, but this is not one of them. Even Money is highly forgettable, painfully flat and a waste of star power.
(us) wrote: This movie tries to be a modern day film noir and doesn't work. This movie has a great cast that has Nicholson, Michael Caine, Judy Davis, Jennifer Lopez and Stephen Dorff. They tried to work with the script that was given but it doesn't seem to cut it. This film is a major disappointment.

(ru) wrote: I really love peckinpah's films, I love the tough charcters he creates that live and die by morals and a code. It makes me think of the old days when you could trust someones word. This has to be one of my favourites in that aspect. I like how he took these two old western stars and gave them a chance to grace the screen once again. And what a amazing job they do! When most people think of peckinpah they think of The wild bunch which is a great film yes but I think these smaller and not so violent films are the better of his collection.
