Lucas Y (de) wrote: A friend recommended this to me last year and I finally got around to watching it. He even had the balls to compare it to 'Requiem for a Dream'. After watching, I can safely say the only similarity between the 2 films is they involve drugs. This is more like 'Basketball Diaries' meets 'Spun' in the worst way possible. Foggy camera work. Terrible use of music. Dated as hell. Lead by 3 tv actors (all of which I normally like, except for Rob Lowe) who play extremely unlikeable, pretentious characters. And a ridiculous, uninspired ending. Tries to be philosophical far too often. This film was garbage. I hated it. And I normally love drug movies.

The fact is, it could have been stopped, The West dispassionately refused to help (via the U.N.) because it offered no financial/economic advantage. This is what the U.N. really looks like. Recommended.

Akash S (br) wrote: The acting is commendable by the brilliant two lead, but there isn't enough material for the two legends to shine here.About the movie: Some people are not capable of change, but we tend to believe in second chances and in the slight possibility for that change to occur; all in vain.
Patryk C (gb) wrote: A perfectly-paced noir movie, directed by the great Fritz Lang and starring one of the most achieved actors in the genre - Edward G. Robinson. It's a story of obsession, cold-blooded love, blackmail and murder. With its dramatic turn of events, witty dialogues, and impressive performance from Robinson, it presents a detective-like tale with subtle twists and enormous moral baggage.
