Secret Command features Pat O'Brien as a onetime foreign correspondent in the wartime employ of the FBI. Under an assumed name, O'BRIEN goes to work at a shipyard, intending to keep both eyes open for potential saboteurs. To maintain the cover, O'BRIEN is given a "wife" (Carole Landis) and two children. When O'BRIEN's brother Chester Morris shows up, he can't comprehend the charade and nearly spills the beans to the Nazi spies O'BRIEN hopes to trap. Based on the short story The Saboteurs by John and Ward Hawkins, Secret Command offers a graying but still feisty Pat O'Brien doing what he does best.

(fr) wrote: The movie is one of the most irrational by Yash Chopra but as always it works. Anushka Sharma allows the movie to laugh at its own stupidity although that does not diffuse how ridiculous the plot is. The second half is too stretched. Dance sequences and music are good but not great for a Yash Chopra movie. All that said, the movie is Yash Chopra beautiful and emotional.

It spans his whole life, and, sure, is very well-researched, but often it seems that the film's focus is centred more on his artistic visions and divisive soul than his actual biography - which, considering we have Wikipedia and countless amounts of internet sources where we can build up our knowledge on his life, is actually a pretty good, and certainly refreshing, thing.
