It is also unflinching in its depiction of the cruel and insane life that is lived by those whose only home is the streets of a major city such as New York. The story centers on two older homeless men and the people around them, as well as one of the youngest in the numbers of the street folk. One man has formed a type of cult built around a belief that he has the knowledge to lead his group into ?paradise? and the other is an exile from that following who has come up with an insane and homicidal plan to reach paradise first. There is a lot of odd side stories thrown into the mix here and there, but most of these serve only as filler materiel to pad out the movie length. The young boy who carries the main role in the film does a good enough job. Most of the others also are adequate actors, with only a few getting too ridiculous. The SFX are so-so. They get their job done, but only in a barely believable way if one has a more than basic ability to suspend disbelief. The music score was actually not bad at all and really did work to enhance the scenes that needed it. This was a good one for one viewing and, in the category of independent B-movie making, not a bad effort. Notes: GV-XL-SA Suggested Age: 16+

(nl) wrote: A simple movie full of depth. I was really impressed with the minimalism of this movie. One set, 3 characters, and a runtime of about 1 hour 20 minutes. The pacing was perfect, actors played their roles perfectly and were fun to watch . . . and the end fight scene was great! It just goes to show you how much more you can do with less! Hollywood should learn from these types of movies!

(nl) wrote: What can I say about this film that hasn't been said? The film was incredibly stupid and zany, and I think the movie works okay because of that. Sure, some of the jokes don't work but they are saved by the jokes that are funny and the zany antics of Christopher Lloyd. I can totally picture him as the alien and he works well with his role. Nothing special here but this film is decent enough that it's entertaining and funny, but it's not jaw droppingly hilarious.
(gb) wrote: This film follows a teenage girl as she makes her way around new york city in the late eighties. she ends up in very bizzare places such as a voodoo ritual where the heads are being bitten off of chickens, a prostitute sale, and an anit-yuppie speach which includes the speach giver to get naked and pour smashed up easter eggs on herself, then decorates her breasts with confetti as she screams about the yuppies on avenue A. This film shows things you will never believe, and what makes it all so bizzare, is that everything is real. unfortinatly, this film is very hard to come by and is extremly rare, but if you find a copy, you should deffinatly watch it.

A couple of things stood out - some bad fashion (see Angela Mao's silver jumpsuit) and one notably bad hairdo (Angela Mao guilty again).

(gb) wrote: Shrek stuck in an alternate reality is an interesting premise that provokes some laughs, and even if the plot is not original or memorable at all, this passable animation is an improvement over the mediocre last movie and an amusing conclusion to the franchise.
