Courtney K (nl) wrote: hmm; it's been a while since i've read the book & from what i can remember, i feel like this was a fine movie -- although i did catch that none of them were British -- but reading other reviews i guess it's not a very good adaptation. there's an older film from the 60's that apparently follows better so i guess i'll watch that one next.

Ronald S (jp) wrote: My biggest problems with this movie lie in the cheese factor (which I can only forgive so much of because the era it's from) and the look of the lead girl. Now, I'm not someone who would usually pick on something like this, but she was really weird looking. I mean, I suppose I give kudos to the producers for taking a chance with her, but she should of at least had a better haircut. However, this film is great in how it tells it's pre-apocalyptic story and I have never really seen anything like it before. Sure, some of the acting is bad and there's a lot of cheese, but the filmmakers behind this really tried to do something different and made decisions for the film that prove that. Plus, the ending! Wow, so no Hollywood in the slightest. I applaud them for how it ends.I encourage you check this film out. It's worth a look, in my opinion.

Paul C (ca) wrote: Certainly no 'El Cid' this however does have curiousity value - even among Charlton Heston's other films - though i doubt he has ever had a worse hairstyle!
