She Wore a Yellow Ribbon

She Wore a Yellow Ribbon

After Custer and the 7th Cavalry are wiped out by Indians, everyone expects the worst. Capt. Nathan Brittles is ordered out on patrol but he's also required to take along Abby Allshard, wife of the Fort's commanding officer, and her niece, the pretty Olivia Dandridge, who are being evacuated for their own safety. Brittles is only a few days away from retirement and Olivia has caught the eye of two of the young officers in the Company, Lt. Flint Cohill and 2nd Lt. Ross Pennell. She's taken to wearing a yellow ribbon in her hair, a sign that she has a beau in the Cavalry, but refuses to say for whom she is wearing it.

The last job of Calvary Captain Nathan Brittles before retirement is to soothe relations with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians after Custer's last stand. Encumbered by women who must be evacuated, Brittles finds his mission imperiled. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Karen N (gb) wrote: This is a fun alternative romantic comedy. Unexpected and fairly original.

Patryk C (de) wrote: Too slow and too uneventful to offer anything truly appealing. Overly cliched, with humdrum performances by most of the actors (maybe except the always-socially-awkawrd-but-still-funny Jesse Eisenberg). A story - inspired by true events - about a group of Jews smuggling drugs to America sounds promising on paper, but with major flaws in the direction department it lacks the verve. Worth one watch, but don't expect to remember the whole intrigue a year later.

Entertaining film about how firms and executives work back during those days which has not changed all that much. With a great performance from William Holden of "Stalag 17"- great build up to ending!! Similar themes to Rod Serling's (Twight Zone) "Patterns"!! 4/4

Bob V (ag) wrote: Taking quite a leap with the Biblical story of King Solomon & the Queen of Sheba, it's all fun enough, with Lollobrigida's heavy accent and sensuous purring, and Yul Brynner still with hair on his head. The pagan orgy scene looks rather tame now, but was terribly licentious for its time, and because if the ominously primal & sexual musical score during the scene, it still oozes naughtiness and works very effectively. It's not "The Ten Commandments", but a lot of people will probably prefer this fluffier 'Bible story'.

Ibraheem M (fr) wrote: Coogan's Bluff is not thrilling as much as Don Sigel's other motion pictures starting Clint Easlwood like 'Dirty Harry' or 'Two Mules for Sister Sara', but Eastwood's and Lee J. Cobb's performances will make you finish it till the end.
