Chris D (gb) wrote: Oh the horror, the acting by all including Kim Basinger in this cat and mouse debauchery was inhuman - unbelievable dialogue between unbelievable characters in unbelievable situations...it's a dishonor to Joy Division fans that 'Day Of The Lords' was associated with this.

m w (ca) wrote: I was really bored throughout pretty much the whole movie. It's not the sci-fi channel original movie level graphics it's just the story and how it was told. Technically there was enough at stake i guess. This is one of those things that might have worked great as a book(not even sure it was a book) but i was really disappointed by the film. just seemed soulless. EDIT: After thinking it over, my real reason for being disappointed by this is probably my own fault. The social issues with drones and outsourcing jobs and treating Mexicans like shit are all totally relevant. The problem is that I judged the movie by it's cover. I thought the picture looked cool and that it had something to do with plugging into something to go to sleep, but sleep dealer is a total misnomer and it's hard not to be disappointed by the movie if you have built up any expectation of it based on the title and cover picture alone as I did.

Jack S (nl) wrote: Not bad! Better than lockjaw, trust me! Lockjaw is like the same age rating yet it's not even scary! It's just funny but this, I jumped just when I saw something land on that woman but it was just snanke skin? But overall decent horror if your looking for a 15 rated horror.

Charles P (ag) wrote: I watched this wrong: sober. Well, more like sobering up. I had five tall cans in the afternoon then decided, gee it's 4PM and I'm feeling a bit tipsy so maybe I should take a break, eat something, drink some powerade, so I don't feel too bad the following day. Work and all. What this means is that I would never, ever, be able to be a clown according to this movie.

Michael M (fr) wrote: This was a very good movie about homeless people!! I was very sad for the mother and daughter. It made me very fearful of being homeless.

Alex W (mx) wrote: This doesn't hold up to well. I didn't laugh once, this could have only worked in the mid 80's.

Justin J (gb) wrote: one of the first animes that I remember watching. fantastic. dialogue a little campy at times but a great anime movie for its time.

Rick Q (jp) wrote: up until recently i hadn't seen many james cagney films. and the ones i had seen, didn't give me the impression that he had a lot of range. "man of a thousand faces" is the second film in a row of his i have seen recently that has made me feel i was completely wrong about him. he was a man with a lot of talent, that this film takes full advantage of. cagney plays lon chaney, a silent film star, who i hadn't previously heard of. the film is very sad and touching and one that many film classic lovers will enjoy.

Greg M (de) wrote: A circular pathology of love by master filmmaker Max Ophuls. Hardly romantic, it is perhaps best viewed as post-breakup cinematherapy.

Stella D (jp) wrote: it makes me happy that there are still hidden gems of cinema to be turned up and i probably won't live long enough to find them all. until a few months ago i'd never even heard of this movie and i'm a laughton fan! it's an absolutely delightful comedy western about a proper english gentleman's gentleman whose master loses him in a poker game--to some nouveau-riche americans. soon ruggles is on his way to the wild west where the concept of a manservant is not quite obvious to everyone. at first aghast, ruggles soon adapts to life in a society where everyone is 'equal'. a great 'fish out of water' comedy and subversive commentary on american vs european values with a wonderful, nearly silent performance by laughton, who does most of his acting with facial expressions alone! let's hope this gets a dvd release soon; it certainly deserves one
