Carl (it) wrote: Was not fond of this movie. Top notch cast but a horrid script. Some of the characters weren't believable. Again I did not like this movie

Riyad C (mx) wrote: a beautifully done movie, from the cinematography to the music to the smart dialogue. it allowed you to see the world that Frida saw which was very transcending and beautifully done.Salma Hayek never looked more beautiful, she disappeared in the character which is something I always admire when I watch a movie where I get to forget that I am watching a motion picture but a life being portrayed in front of me and some how I am a witness to it. if one thing I would critic is that I wish that the dialogue was in Spanish.

Adrian B (mx) wrote: Fairly disappointing boxing movie in which two losers (Stacy Keach and Jeff Bridges) who strive to succeed at the sport for which they love. Keach's character is an alcoholic who is in the rough love affair with this unpleasantly nasty woman (Susan Tyrrell), but not saying he's not also nasty would be leaving out a chunk of information to describe his character. Bridges' character is also in a relationship with a woman (Candy Clark), but is heavily impacted by his inadequate fighting methods in the sport. Generally sincere, but mainly forgettable and indulges too heavily in feeling pity for the characters, despite who the director is (John Huston, which is too bad because I have enjoyed many of his others movies). "Fat City," by the way, refers to a region of the city for which they live in coined by the African-Americans.

Michael G (de) wrote: For a movie about the apocalypse, Panic in Year Zero came across as claustrophobic. It's reasonably groundbreaking for its time on a gruesomeness level with a rape scene and by actually showing dead bodies. This movie reminded me of a modern zombie movie without the zombies. Although nothing truly stands out as far as acting or direction's concerned and everything seems to inexplicably get wrapped up conveniently, Panic in Year Zero isn't a bad watch. The worst thing about this movie is undoubtedly Les Baxter's Mancini-esque score that couldn't be more distracting or inappropriate if it was performed entirely with kazoos. If nothing else it made me anticipate the film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" all the more.

Nick M (de) wrote: AMISTAD is heartfelt, intense and emotional...But it is also about 20 minutes too long, which is one of the only things keeping it from being a true masterpiece.

SK B (fr) wrote: If you're interested in 90s slasher like I am, then there's a pretty good chance you'll like this. It's up there among the best of them, with some really creative and brutal kills. Good looking guys and cute girls getting murdered in the style of old urban legends; what's not to like?
