(es) wrote: Hilarious and revolting story of Rose (Real-life Porn-Star Marilyn Chambers) first, the unfortunate victim of a grotesque motorbike accident, then some unorthodox and experimental skin graft surgery and finally the unceremonious arrival of a rather phallic, blood lusting arm-pit protrusion, whose victims begin to develop a George A Romero-like state of craziness. Cronenberg's direction is awesome and the story, though completely madcap, keeps a good hold on it's various metaphors - particularly the sudden arrival of gun violence and state control in 1970's Canada.

After being paroled Everett sets out to be a performer, and meets a beautiful woman in a bar with record label connections. They head to the studio to cut a record, but the label they try to sell it to steals Vince's song and has another artist perform it.The pair consult a lawyer, form their own label, and cut a new record which is a huge success.A T.V. special follows, and then Everett finds success in Hollywood. But as Vince becomes more famous,he begins to lose touch and forgets the people who helped him climb to the top....... The first movie about Rock n Roll and one of the kings finest acting performances,Jailhouse Rock is a great study of the ups and downs of being famous. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS!!!
