Joetaeb D (jp) wrote: It owes way too much to The Blair witch project for plot/inspiration and it's set up takes way too long. But Willow Creek does pull off a few effective slow burn scares and surprisingly compelling characters to make for a better than average horror thriller.

Steve D (kr) wrote: I actually really like the Hatchet series but this one was nowhere near as good as the last 2. The ending was very surprising and could lead to some more interesting stories.

Mike P (mx) wrote: As someone who's never even seen Troll 2, this was still one of the most entertaining and interesting documentaries I've ever seen. The greatest compliment I can give Best Worst Movie is that it legitimately made me want to see, what is considered, one of the worst movies of all time.

Steve G (br) wrote: It's getting harder and harder to find good horror films. This particular one is terrible. I know that Kristy Swanson has not had an award-winning stellar career in film but I'm actually embarrassed for her to be in a film this bad.

Andrew M (ca) wrote: It's a bit disappointing that the most revolutionary rock band in history is only capable of producing, at least in the hands of Julie Taymor, a jukebox musical that feels anything but. There is plenty to like here, of course: Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess are both charming and work together well for the romance their characters share, and Taymor at least has a nice eye for visuals, crafting a style that really harkens back to The Beatles' psychedelic Magical Mystery Tour days. Lots of the song renditions, many of which opt for different tones than the original tracks, are impressively choreographed and sung (With a Little Help From My Friends gets a rousing college dorm based performance); conversely, some renditions just feel flat in comparison (a football themed rendition of I Wanna Hold Your Hand is dull and lacks the pop charm of the original song). Between this lack of consistency and the meandering plot that has perhaps one too many subplots, the film sometimes feels a lot longer than it is, and at a 130 minute runtime, that's sometimes problematic. Any fan of The Beatles, new or old, will surely find something to admire with this look back at their lasting impact and discography, but there are just too many little hiccups to make this completely accessible and completely enjoyable for anyone other than die hard fans.

Riya A (it) wrote: Beautiful. I'm not one for rom-coms but this film made me feel more than think. I watched this on a flight and when I had to snap back to reality, reality almost felt unreal. It's so amazingly simple with long takes, brilliant writing, and the fact that the entire film is essentially a conversation. I could peel off the many layers of the film and get to the philosophy of it but that's for another day. Still need to watch Before Sunrise, and watching this was purely impulsive, but I'm so glad I finally did. Haven't gotten so lost in a film in a while.

Bradley J (br) wrote: Valiant has an interesting atmosphere to it considering it takes place during WWII and it's nice to have some educational value about the animals working in the war. Valiant, however, is very weak in the story department even for a family film. The animation isn't very appealing either. There are a few likable characters most who appear later on in the film, but overall the film feels dull. Luckily, most kids will probably enjoy it. Overall Rating: 51

Howard C (ca) wrote: If you have not seen this movie, you must, immediately. It's just a good all around movie. It also stars Zooey Deschanel, which is win, AND the tripping teenager from Super Troopers.
