At no point is it engaging, you cannot relate to any characters, if it's meant to be funny it fails. It only gets 1 star because of the hedgehog story, which was the only good thing in the movie.

(br) wrote: It is like an okay Japnese comicbook which includes everything - stars, actions (blood and guns), dramas, and sex - but those elements are not well blended. Story development, characters, and cinematography are of traditional Hong Kong Noirs, but they are all used up when this film was made and not new at all. It is still worth to check out because it includes some unforgetable shots and lines.

(au) wrote: Eliot Gould plays one of the most understated and powerful characters in this film that is a surreal commentary on how disconnected we are becoming - as families, as communities. Vincent Gardenia is BRILLIANT. This is a must-see film for anyone who wants a deeply meaningful film with a good dollop of absurdity and humor.
(mx) wrote: excepting the difference in this yojimbo compared to the one Toshiro plays in the film of the same name, was a good movie, a little hard to follow at times, but a good movie
