Matthew J (jp) wrote: Well I'm a fan of Lincoln the president and I liked the book Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter, the boom was well thought out and followed his life to make the vampire hunting fit in with the real Lincoln. The movie on the other hand didn't care, they just took an good idea and made it bad. Not the good kind of bad either. The story was all over the place, the fight scenes were over the top and it had the most damning factor a movie can have... Cheap 3D thrills which took the place of story line. Sad to say but unless forced I won't be seeing this movie again.

Daniel Otto Jack P (au) wrote: Great slow burn of a film, beautiful to watch, both in filming and in acting. The tension introduced by the third party of the plot really had me riveted. The mixture of genuine love expressed through both self-sacrifice and also the possibility of something much darker struck a rich note by the end. Part of me was dying to know *exactly* what really happened as regards a crucial plot detail in the denouement, but part of me loved the unsettling tone achieved by leaving that to the viewers' surmise. Really enjoyed this. I'd like to see more small stories of the post-apocalypse like this told.
