Richard D (nl) wrote: Christopher Plummer is fabulous as John Barrymore ... someone he's clearly too old to play, but then again, given Barrymore's lifestyle, perhaps he isn't. If you want to see Plummer strut his stuff, it's certainly worth a view. It's not really a play that begged to be put on the screen, and it's not particularly well-suited to be a movie. Outside of Plummer's performance, it's really not very compelling.

An extremely interesting re-interpretation of the end of Jesus' life, bringing up great new possibilities in his relationships with his family, disciples, and the religious leaders of the time. The events of the movie are all accurate to the Biblical text, but the words being said by and about a black Jesus can completely change their implications (same goes for the events themselves). Really interesting and definitely worth a watch for Christians or those interested in dealing with racism or new interpretations of religion at all.

Jacob B (de) wrote: While it hits a few bumps on the road to PG-13 territory, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - rather unsurprisingly the highest grossing film of 2005 - still boasts more mature performances from its young cast of teens, amazing special effects, a few funny moments here & there and a thrilling electrifying climax which introduces Ralph Fiennes in one of his most famous roles to date. The end result is ultimately one of the most thrilling Harry Potter films to date which even boasts complexity in terms of storytelling.

Andrew K (mx) wrote: Zack Snyder's remake of the classic that I personally found boring, is perfectly paced, thrilling, gorey, funny, frightening, expertly shot and edited, and an all around fun experience. This is as good as zombie movies get.
