John T (de) wrote: I would say this was just marginally ok until the end. The end pulls it all together and you really start to love it.This one is about a kid whose parents grow weed. He has been home schooled by them and leaves in a house but with the whole 'compound' mentality. He wants to join society and go to school, fall in love, etc. His parents are opposed to it, but allow him to make his choices. Not to shabby.

Alexander Z (au) wrote: Wow. This is one heavy film. Unlike every other Spike Lee film I've seen, it's also extremely thoughtful and does not divide people along racial lines, instead choosing to examine the men and women behind the skin. It's also one of the most accurate portrayals of inner city life I've seen.

Rick M (br) wrote: Another cheesy movie for the King, he deserved so much better than this.

Raelene S (br) wrote: Take away that little shit Robert oh and the other son too, the girl she was fine, and this film would be so much better, Cary Grant still as handsome as ever, i totally love a film that involves none or very little brain power sometimes and this is one of those, enjoyable silly movies.

Paul F (fr) wrote: Classic! Steve Allen does a spectacular job as Beeny Goodman, and with Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa, and Teddy Wilson all playing themselves ... wow. If you don't get lost in "One O'Clock Jump" by the end of the song, you just don't get quality music.

Jocey D (de) wrote: Wonderful discovery of how a quiet older life can be lonely at times but also fulfilling, especially with a few good friends. Blythe Danner is such a classy woman. Her acting is just as delicate abs refined. Her pairing with Sam Elliott is enviable. Every woman should be so lucky as to have such a thoughtful, considerate, adventurous, fun and kind companion.

Scott A (br) wrote: It was a nice acting film, but it was quite boring. I mean for most of the film it's just Julia and Hurt in a tiny prison cell talking. It has a few twists that aren't all that surprising. The acting is good I guess, but we never really get why either had to be in jail. And while I'm certain how it went down in the ending, the police kind of give a different response and makes you wonder. So overall it's well crafted, just not very entertaining.
