Student Bodies

Director Mickey Rose's zany send-up of teen slasher flicks features a maniacal psycho known as the Breather (played by Jerry Belson), who stalks –and murders– promiscuous students at a suburban high school. The fanatical killer's unusual weapons include paper clips, blackboard erasers and eggplants. Kristen Riter, Matthew Goldsby, Joe Flood, Kevin Mannis and Sara Eckhardt head the cast.

Nicky S (de) wrote: Watched this Tamil movie in India in theaters without subtitles, so it was harder to follow the story, though I still got most of it. The action-packed second half, after intermission, was better than the first half. It's a pretty good story, and has some funny scenes, good acting, and cool if not completely over the top fight scenes, but also some cringe-worthily cheesy and corny parts and also some really bad movie songs. It's a pretty good movie but is a mixed bag, but it was a good experience to watch a Tamil movie. Also, the cinematography and colors on the big screen were impressive. Overall, good movie.

The balance of quick witty dialogue and sometimes violent and gritty action perfectly compliment a clever and well planned plot. 95/100

It's a type of film that doesn't really exist any more, at least not in this guise. In a way this was a pre-cursor to Alfie, which although made only a few years later felt of a different time. Albert Finney is excellent as the central character and it's probably no surprise that he's had a successful acting career ever since as this was a star-making role.
