Dann M (es) wrote: A touching, yet somewhat confusing character drama, Collateral Beauty is a compelling film about love and reconciliation. To save their firm from collapsing three managers collaborate to hire a group of actors to play Death, Time, and Love, and confront their dysfunctional CEO who is grief stricken from the death of his daughter and has written to them out of desperation. Starring Will Smith, Edward Norton, Kate Winslet, Michael Pena, and Keira Knightley, the film features an incredibly strong cast; however their performances are pretty middling. And there are a few plot holes and reveals that don't quite make sense. Still, the story takes some interesting turns and plays against conventional stereotypes. While it's not as clever as it thinks it is, Collateral Beauty is an entertaining and heartfelt film.

Sven S (br) wrote: mhm... i loved the first half! great cinema... but then when beat takeshi came in, kitano obviously tried hard to put in the black humour beatness into a story where it was not that fitting. the end made up for it partly. I think it is one of Kitanos best movies anyway

This original touch truly deserve the award for 2006's Best Animated Feature. (A-)(Full review coming soon)
Dann M (de) wrote: A fun and entertaining spoof of the gangster genre, Johnny Dangerously pulls no punches. The story follows a kid named Johnny who joins a New York crime syndicate and rises to the top, but when his brother becomes a D.A. Johnny is forced to choose between his crime family and his blood family. Starring Michael Keaton, Peter Boyle, Joe Piscopo, Marilu Henner, and Danny DeVito, the film has a strong cast and they deliver some good performances. The slapstick and sight gags are also pretty well-done, though not all of the comedy works. The plot's a little weak too, but as far as parody films go Johnny Dangerously is one of the better one of the '80s.

Paul B (jp) wrote: At times it feels painstakingly realistic, every piece of dialogue, every situation, every interaction rings authentic, adding up to an unforgettable and moving finale; the only thing hampering this gem is the visual style and the somewhat poor pacing.
