(fr) wrote: The film is pretty clear about its message that wars and the people who fight them can seem just as crazy as the mentally ill. Using that much Bryan Adams in a film is also pretty wacky, incidentally. The motif is largely conveyed through parallelism in the characters, particularly when it comes down to the details of the acting. The cinematography mostly serves to complement this approach and does its part. The most striking aspect of it was the occasional sudden changes to a hand-held "documentary-like' camera, which seemed to signify moments that became "too real" even for our ill protagonist.

(it) wrote: A proper critical analysis of this film and you'll probably think it is a pathetic attempt at a gangsta movie. However, the unintentioinal laughs it creates and the fact that it is so easy to watch bumps up the score.
(ru) wrote: Call me paranoid--this one references Annie Hall for sure. Serious, quasi-sweet little comedy with just enough self-referential film industry humo[u]r to throw someone like me off. Some will watch it for Bono, whose cameos are high points--I'll freely admit I watched it to see a radiant Kathryn Erbe (billed with alternate spelling) in yet another pre-Alex Eames role. Bottom line: enough comic bright spots and artistic symmetry that I'll be saving my copy to disk.

"This movie will keep you and that end of your seat" it is intense, heart pound movie. This is a must see movie!

(us) wrote: tedious to make through! I had to check the remaining time several times. I guess that if you liked "The English Patient" you might also like this. I must admit that it had a good music score and some nice directional touches but it was not all that engaging. I just didn't care the characters that much.
