Akshay M (ca) wrote: Notes on a scandal is a smart, well written and directed psychological thriller with wonderful and powerful performance from Judi Dench and Cate Blancett. Subject was little uncomfortable, eerie kind of but it is hard to turn away due to it's wonderful screenplay, score and fierce performances from the leads.

Now that it's finally on DVD I had a chance to see it again, and it's even more beautiful, eloquent, and succinct than I remembered. Just about the only John Huston film I like, and definitely the only one I love.

Jeff B (ca) wrote: This was a pretty good movie, and maybe I just wasn't paying too much attention throughout the whole film, but it just seemed like too much was happening. Cary Grant plays a man who returns to his hometown and helps his mom Ethel Barrymore run her shop, but both end up getting into some trouble. I feel like I should rewatch this again, the cast is good and it's got a nice feel to it, but I guess I just wasn't too focused on it.
