Brendan S (it) wrote: Interesting to see what went on during their 2004 reunion tour and the strangely awkward interactions between the band members, but other than that this is just a straightforward and vanilla documentary. The concert footage is fine, but sparse, and the rest of it doesn't go into enough detail. Entertaining for Pixies fans, but that's about it.

Ruben L (ag) wrote: I gave it three stars even though the dialogue and acting was pretty bad. The main character was pretty hot! Oh and I remember seeing the other guy in some commercials! It was still pretty cute for a low budget gay movie!

Sean J (ru) wrote: From the other reviews on here, I get the impression that this movie will be your fave if you're down with the rave. I had no such upbringing so I felt no nostalgia while watching the empty 2 dimensional characters that were poorly portrayed in this film. There was no real story or conflict which I guess sums up the rave era pretty well. I am very fond of electronic music but rave/house/trance/techno music bores me to tears so I couldn't even be interested in that. If you don't have a history with the rave/party scene, stear clear of this stinker.

I loved them all and I loved how they helped prove that fantasy films can be Oscar contenders. This movie is a feast for the eyes and it still holds up after all this time. I can't recommend it enough.

Gimly M (ag) wrote: The story is the weak link in what is otherwise a marvellously fun chain. Unfortunately, when it comes to the film industry, the plot-link is kind of the most important one, so I can't really call Judge Dredd a success. And although the general premise is strong, this is not to the credit of the movie, seeing as it sources its material from the comic books of the same name, and 2000 AD.Sylvester Stallone (the titular Dredd) and Rob Schneider (his offsider) are perhaps poor casting options. But they aren't so terrible as to make Judge Dredd unwatchable, especially seeing as there are a quite a few good choices to balance this out.Despite being made in '95, it shares that intrinsically 1980's vision of a dystopian future, where all the buildings are black, all the signs are neon, and all the residents are androgynous punks and goths. Which to be honest I'm a huge sucker for, so this earns Judge Dredd some points (though again, not for originality). It's perhaps not the sort of description you'd expect of a violence-heavy, guilty-pleasure dodgy sci-fi, but Judge Dredd is just so cute! The ABC Warrior I have a particular soft spot for, but even overall, the piece is enjoyable to not take seriously (though taking it seriously is probably impossible).Yes it's true that Judge Dredd is enjoyable in a laughing at it kind of way rather than a laughing with it one, but that's still enjoyable in my books.61%-Gimly

Lisa S (au) wrote: Am I the only one who doesn't find Gere attractive? His acting in this movie is pretty one dimensional. What I liked about this movie was the story, especially the ending which was the most exciting part of the whole movie, and I loved the cinematography, this is a sharp looking picture. If only it weren't so long, and they'd have gotten a cuter male lead, this would have been a fantastic movie.
