Roni A (mx) wrote: Surprisingly engrossing and relevant film about current societal issues, loyalty, young people approaching adukthood and moral issues. The only--but also the star--uniquesness of this small town is its landscape, climate, constant daylight, and freezing temperature....and miles of snowy wilderness. The same story could have been told in a woodsy American town, or in sunny California, or in a rich town, or a poor town. It's about universal problems facing our world today, as well as problems facing young people timelessly. I highly recommend this film.

Rob W (au) wrote: Visually I loved it. It's like Chad Michael Ward met Clive Barker in their youth and made a movie. It was almost beautiful...But the story ended up leaving me bored after a while. I hardly noticed when it even ended.
Holly F (nl) wrote: I quite enjoyed this low budget film. It was fairly amusing in parts but the ending was blunt and the effects was bad at times. A big cheese fest but entertaining! April 24, 2010

Jeff W (ag) wrote: Going into this as a comedy you will be disappointed, but if you take it for the cute, lighthearted thriller/mystery it really is, you'll be pleasently surprised. There are some loose ends, but overall this is pretty good. I really do like Debra Winger.

Eduardo C (jp) wrote: Orson Welles called this the saddest film ever made. I would not go that far but it is tragic. It concerns a happily married couple who have been married for 50 years who lose their home. They lack savings because they have spent it all on their 5 kids. However, the five kids, now all grown, and about middle aged, refuse to take care of them, not because they cannot but because they find it inconvenient to do so. This forces the parents to split up. Their last day together reliving memories of their honeymoon and then saying goodbye at a train station is indeed heartbreaking.

Nasu N (gb) wrote: This film is intense, it's action packed, it's thrilling, it's one of the best action film I've seen in 2014. I cannot even fathom how brutal some of these scenes are. The plot is not going to blow you away as it is a rebelling movie at its core, but it does have subtle themes about humankind which is very interesting but if there was a super weak plot in this movie, I still wouldn't care because the action scenes are a thing of beauty as well as the performances that were extremely moving especially Chris Evans who gives a performance that blew me away.
Sean P (kr) wrote: If you are going to write a story PROVIDE A FUCKING ENDING. It is pure laziness on the part of an author to leave the ending undone and a story full of holes.

Johnny T (ca) wrote: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies delivers what its title promises: a little romance and some undead villains, plus a bit of comedy. But this overly busy riff on Austen's winning formula doesn't justify all the tinkering. Steers can compose and capture a shot fine enough, but seems otherwise bored to be here. Each of his scenes collide lazily against the next; transitions are rushed and often ugly, and the director never seems to know what emotions he should be steering his cast toward. Riley makes a lousy, hoarse-voiced Darcy. James sets off no sparks with him, suggests no heartbreaking longing. If you want to make a point about women liberated by a zombie invasion into independent-minded martial arts warriors, why do it with one of the greatest romance novels of all time? There's barely a laugh here, and nothing resembling human emotion. This movie is so crushing mainly because it was made by obviously smart people who are trying to dumb themselves down, and there's nothing more excruciating than that. What the film needed was a young Peter Jackson... but it's left with a surprisingly straight tone and the sense that this is an amusing idea for a comedy sketch stretched out to feature length. The only threat to your brain is boredom. The bottom line is that Burr Steers' adaptation is unlikely to please any audience regardless of what they're looking for.VERDICT: "Not So Hot" - [Negative Reaction] These films are truly terrible films. They are not the worst things ever made, but they are definitely awful and should not be seen by anyone. (Films that are rated 1.5 or 2 stars)
