Joshua H (mx) wrote: This movie was definitely conceived under one drop of acid too many school of filmmaking. I don't know If there is a god or not, but this movie would definitely make baby Jesus cry! But it made me laugh, so that's all that counts! Verdict: epically retarded, Terri Schivao-style!!

Jake P (es) wrote: Taking Chance is an emotionally power tribute to American bravery, sacrifice & honor. Sure it's not an exciting endeavor & some of the acting is a little over earnest but dwelling on such trivial matters of execution would be a mistake. I've read the negative reviews of this film with much distaste. One critic called it a "tedious 85 minutes of Kevin Bacon saluting." If you're unable to appreciate a short straightforward film about the honor & respect that goes into this process then just quit now. Another argued that Taking Chance was lazy & could only resonate to those with a personal connection to the subject matter. Anyone who considers them self an American has a connection to this subject matter. This is a strong, effective, beautifully told story & a very important film. Nay-saying liberal apologist who would deride the true story of an fallen Marine, whether or not you agree with why they fight or not, I have no time for you.

Sounds like it could work, but this film doesn't know if it wants to be a serious melodramatic film or a straight up comedy. It wavers too many times between them that I didn't care for the film. Doesn't help that Tyrese can't hold a film and never has. Just an all around boring film given the way it turned out. should have been better.

Private U (au) wrote: it sounded interesting, but its soooooooo slow and boring, you really lose interest after the the first 20 min or so, and wtf?i didnt know this was made in 2000? it has a real early 90's feel to it.
