Tenda dos Milagres

In a loose adaptation of Jorge Amado’s best-selling novel of the same name, Pereira dos Santos provides a stunning critique of racism in Brazilian society. When a prominent U.S. Nobel Laureate arrives in Salvador, Bahia, the city with the largest black population in Brazil, he stirs emotions by championing a long-forgotten local writer named Pedro Archanjo, who believed that humanity would be improved only through miscegenation. . Megan B (nl) wrote: "I am Pat fucking Tillman! Why are you shooting at me??!!" A friendly fire cover up that will infuriate you and make your heart sink. How on earth did this happen?

Michael W (au) wrote: Prom-goers are stranded after their charter plane goes down in nasty weather. Betsy Russell always an asset but narration by the nerd is a minus. One real head-scratcher was why the nerd was dressed in a cat costume at the prom.

Amanda H (fr) wrote: I expected a stupid slapstick comedy with a typical, predictable sports theme. This movie is more than that. In fact it's probably my favorite Bernie Mac role, and I wish I had gotten around to seeing it sooner. While it is a pretty standard comedy, it's one with a point, and that doesn't happen often.

Jessica K (es) wrote: I grew up watching the Shrek movies and this one by far is my favourite. It was different but held the story of an ogre and a princess falling in love as their connection grew stronger with all the obstacles they have overcome. It introduces new characters that become favourites as well. I highly recommend it.

Jarrod G (es) wrote: There were many twist an turns in this movie. Although many of the turns were not relevant to the plot, as some would say, they did add a sense of excitement and intrigue. This is the only movie I have eve watched where I rewind the movie to watch the ending again. I thought it was a very good movie for people who are able just to follow along with out knowing everything.

Lanning (jp) wrote: It starts with Forster, mister fists and fingers and polished caves withinfinite echoes and mirror reflections, and leaves you with good old WaltWhitman. I'm not the biggest John Hurt fan, I'll guess, but he lives in this movie. And Jason Priestly? Whoa. Who would have thought he could be this good? His character says he's sick of playing the teenage idol. Hmmm. He delivers that line with great authenticity. Quite a commentary on his past acting life perhaps? Don't know. Just guessing.

Al Nasty (au) wrote: A truly original rom-com. Haven't seen a story like this before or after.

Christopher S (ca) wrote: Not really a zombie movie, but a terrible 80s low-budget supernatural slasher. A sloppy plot blandly told, even the presence of B-movie favorites Adam West and a young Tia Carrere aren't enough to make it watchable for any reason.

Dwayne R (nl) wrote: Good western but nothing special.

Francisco F (au) wrote: Le film s'ouvre sur un hommage a Sleep, puis se libere peu a peu de l'esthetique de Warhol pour developper les preoccupations et le style de Morrissey, entre cinema amateur et free cinema.
