Well, i was not disappointed at all, he definitely was the right guy to embody that talented ghost writer whose imagination misleads the spectator all through the film. Fiction and reality constantly intertwine, sources of inspiration being both real and imaginary. Fanny Ardant and Audrey Dana are very good, as well as the rest of the cast who mainly plays people with a very non-glamorous life... but after all, isn't it what a roman de gare precisely is about: a cheap novel with tricks which make the ordinary turn into some partial fairytale that the reader wants to believe in though actually does not?
