(Qi Yuwu.. what are you doing mooning with a rooster for almost the whole of the movie? duhh). unfortunately, the script and banal jokes don't do any justice at all. didn't find it funny and thought time could have been better spent watching something else.. sorry Royston, that didnt' do it for me.

Jim H (us) wrote: At the end of act one we discover the answers to many of the film's questions: is this guy a rapist on the run, a ghost writer, or a man abandoning his family? Structurally, this is awfully early to answer so many questions that have such import on the ensuing action. But the rest of the film does not disappoint. Despite its structural flaws, it's still able to re-invent itself as it moves along. Exceptional performances by he of the interesting-looking face, Dominique Pinon, and Audrey Dana, who plays the emotionally damaged but still somehow indomitable Huguette, keep us caring about these characters no matter what story imprisons them.

And this was one of only 2 or so really good Chevy Chase movies, even though he did many many films throughout his career. The only dry spell was the backstory of Danny and his girlfriend Maggie (played by the unknown, unfunny, and unattractive Sarah Holcomb), which I found incredibly boring and unfunny. But otherwise, the 3 comedy masters did a wonderful job. Even Ted Knight stepped up and turned his standard, pompous nitwit into a very funny character, Judge Smails.

Jessi t (br) wrote: A silly, mindless bit of slapstick comedy made infinitely watchable with its stunning cast of horror greats. Worth renting or finding just to watch Vincent Price ham it up for an hour and forty-five minutes.

Austin G (es) wrote: Usually movies that start out with poop flying into someone's mouth means it's gonna be crap (ha... crap), but this had surprising heart and feel-good-ness to it.
