Panta O (kr) wrote: Michael Winterbottom in Genova showed us all his skills, except one... knowing how to end the movie! He is a director of such integrity that leaves me puzzled how could he finish a movie like that after giving us details such as awkwardness of hugging somebody at a wake while holding a plate of food, the momentary sigh of frustration a parent gives when woken by a crying child before they leap out of bed to provide comfort and a little kiss of a teacher and student where everything seems wrong... At least Mary (Perla Haney-Jardine) and Kelly (Willa Holland) looked natural and they were the perfect casting choice. Maybe Winterbottom is one of the greatest living directors but Genova is unfinished business! At the end the life goes on but dissaponted crowd in the theatre is a good sign that something is wrong!

Byron H (kr) wrote: Straightforward and honest social commentary about how certain cultures conflict so much, a reconciliation may just not be possible. Funny and original script, mixed with superb acting. Absolutely loved it.

Jody O (jp) wrote: This is typical 80's fair and Robin Williams acting "gold" in my opinion. This is a Canadian production directed by Harold Ramis with the likes of several notible SCTV alumni including Eugene Levy. A must see...and a great addition to any dvd collection.

Jarrett J (mx) wrote: classic movie. if the aliens were so advanced, why did they need humans to do their work. seems to me they would've had robots or something. it's comical how the aliens go after our top (and most notable scientists) like we wouldn't know that they (the scientists) are acting strange. anyways, continue to watch the skies and beware of meteorites!
