It does a decent job of envoking the spirit of Grey Owl, but it falls a little flat here and there. The real strong point is the scenery. Beautiful shots. The ending is superb and encompasses fairly well the ideologies of Archie Grey Owl. I guess Brosnan was the initial draw (star power), but it also seems to be a point of ridicule. In any regard, it's a decent film, but I suggest people to become familiar with the real man before watching the film.

This is more like a fifty star flick. This may be one of the most brilliantly insane spectacles I've ever had the privilege of seeing. Nothing is safe or sacred as everything not nailed down is destroyed by these little lunatics. And Helmut Doring's laugh is definitely one of the creepiest to have ever found it's way into my ear holes. Add cannibalistic chickens and a crucified monkey to the mix and you've got the makings of a classic in the realm of the insane, a world in which I prefer to spend my time.

The Rolling Stones concert at the Altamont Speedway, which ended in the tragic death of Meredith Hunter, is perhaps the most notorious in rock history. The Maysles brothers and Charlotte Zwerin chilling and disturbing record of the drug fueled dystopian nightmare and the spirit of violence and madness which pervaded the atmosphere of that festival is spellbinding. A riveting document of the end of a turbulent decade and indeed a stunning portrait of an entire generations lost innocence.
