On the flat island of Texel, Marie is a girl who has a vivid imagination who dreams about mountains. She feels oppressed by the strict religious island community and its narrow-minded way of life. Being the only girl in a big and poor family during wartime, she doesn't have much of a choice than to marry Paul, the beachcomber’s son. From the moment a regiment of Georgians are stationed on the island, Marie’s life changes and flourishes. With their film, music, and especially with their inventive, unusual survival strategies and entirely different life style, this isolated group of outsiders and in particular the young soldier Goga opens a new way for Marie. Through them, she realizes all her dreams without fear.
On the island Texel, Marie dreams about mountains; she collects postcards of mountains all over the world. She would love to do something else with her life, but as the only girls in a big ... . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Vinnie B (ag) wrote: Not a bad film by any means, but the problem is that, despite good acting and some excellent fight scenes, this film has, well, nothing else to offer. First off, the plot is simple but is presented in a confusing manner. Secondly, you can tell there was a really, really, REALLY low-budget. It really shows, even down to the picture quality. On top of that, the music is a weird mixture of crappy rap and big, epic orchestral music. But that being said, this is a martial arts movie (and GERMAN martial arts movie), and in that depratment, it succeeds. The fights are excellent and exhilarating, very well-done. This Mathias actor (who reminded me alot of James Van Der Beek) can definitely stand his own against Tony Jaa and Jet Li. Tag to that some very likeable characters and a snappy pace, and its a harmless watch. Too bad it could've been something more.If you dig on movies like Equilibrium, Ong-Bak and District 13, give this one a whirl.
Scot C (mx) wrote: "The truth always comes out eventually"I watched this film for three reasons, it was filmed in South Africa, i know a few of the actors in the film and i was curious about this story. The film is a lot better than what i thought it would be, and the reason i intially thought it would be average is because most tv movies i've seen are not great. It's well written and well acted, particularly Tracy Pollan, i really sympathised with her character. What makes this really look like a film made for tv is the cinematography and lighting. Almost every scene looks like it has studio lights. I think Mikael Salomon the director who was the cine on film such as Backdraft and Far And Away, should have had a hand in that department on this film as well. The two main Spanish characters, the actors have not lost there South African accent. And this is important this kind of detail because this film is predominantly aimed at the USA audience, and fair amount of them have an ear for the Spanish accent. Amy Gumenick was well cast, and a good performance to go along with it. This movie is far from brilliant, but the story is easy to follow and good enough to keep the audience's attention throughout.
