He returns to Arizona upon hearing his uncle is scheduled to remarry. His uncle talks him into staying in Arizona to carry-on the family profession. Shortly after starting his new job he meets an older woman that is a bit eccentric and falls in love. This new love turns his life upside down. His family may not approve of his new love. "Even though he worked for everything he's got, I'm not sure he got anything he needed." Emir Kusturica, director of Black Cat, White Cat; Time of the Gypsies; Life is a Miracle; All the Invisible Children; and Promise Me This, delivers Arizona Dreams. The storyline for this picture is a bit eccentric and unique. The characters are fascinating and well delivered and the cast delivers remarkable performances and includes Johnny Depp, Faye Dunaway, Jerry Lewis, Lili Taylor, and Vincent Gallo. "I never built a flying machine before but how hard could it be?" I had never heard of this movie until BrunetteHepburnGirl made a triumphant return to rottentomatoes with this review. This reminded me of a cross between What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Overall, this isn't as good as either referenced movie; however, it does show the greatness of Depp and the depth of his acting ability (unfortunately, he rarely displays these skill sets nowadays). "You don't say no to this game." Grade: C+ (6.5/7)
Kyle J (de) wrote: This is an action flick I enjoyed very much. It had your typical storyline for an American martial arts movie, but the fight scenes were really entertaining. I don't know why, but Jeff Speakman reminded me of a much faster Chuck Norris. He's a good fighter though.

Wade H (gb) wrote: When this movie came out, I was in Elementary School (I'm in high school now), and this movie was THE BOMB! Everyone in my third grade class wanted to see this movie, and if you have, you were one of the cool kids. What with how "edgy" the movie was, what with the Victoria's Secret scene and the cussing, it was a big deal if you were allowed to see it. That's how big the movie was.Now that I'm in high school, and am watching this movie again, I now notice all the stereotypes, the Kevin James clich (C)s, the many fat jokes, the plot holes. So here's what I have to say... I STILL LOVE IT! And I still wish for a bloody Segway!Wade's Wating: B-
