I respect Randall Cole for having the integrity to not sell-out and produce the same crap we've been seeing in mainstream cinema for the past decade or so. The script was very well-written, it was a good example of how a simple premise can be enhanced by very well designed characters. Randy Quaid and Jay Baruchel both put on great performances and they had some unique chemistry. This film brought some strong messages regarding the important things in life and human bonding. Overall it was a well-made production that shot for an alternative style of entertainment.

(it) wrote: Great for a straight to DVD movie and ok as far as sequels go but definitely not as good as the first. The movie follows the main character of the first one's friend, Remy. In the first one it did not really specify who she was. I always thought she was the bucktoothed kid's motherbut it turns out she was his teacher.(They may have stated that in the first but I missed it.) For a straight to DVD movie, the plot is actaully not bad. Also rarely present in straight to DVD movies are characters with any development whatsover, but in this, the two main characters are pretty well developed. The acting is ok especially by Bruno Campos(The Princess and The Frog) I enjoyed that they didn't use many CGI effects. I liked how the bugs became smarter(or evolved which they do at a fast rate which they do twice in this) In this they can mimic specific people by ripping the person's face off and make a sort of plaster casting with some kind of goo they excrete. If you want to enjoy this movie go in watching it with extremely low expectations like I did.

Yeah it's weird as hell, but it's still somehow a lot of fun! Bluth once again nails the animation, and the characters do get some funny moments here and there. The story is definitely confusing, but I can still follow well enough to find something to like about it. It's not exactly a classic sadly because of the confusion it causes, but I was always happy to watch it as a kid and I still like to go back to it every once in a while now. For me, it was one of my greatest guilty pleasures growing up, and I still love it for all the days I watched it as a kid.

I like these classic tales of a slacker joining the army and somehow bumbling his way to be an unlikely success, and Bill Murray is the perfect actor to fit that role. The physical comedy and the witty dialogue is pretty great. However, it doesn't seem to have enough jokes written to carry the entire run-time. As a result, at a certain point they just start to throw anything against the wall trying to get it to stick. The biggest moment to demonstrate this is an utterly pointless mud wrestling scene. It's as if they were in desperation mode so they said "Just add in some boobs, oh, and John Candy falling all over the place. That'll be funny!" Sadly, it is not. There was no humor in these moments and it completely sidetracks the whole plot. Plus they needed to give a better arc to Bill Murray's character. It would have made him more endearing if he showed just the slightest sign of improvement. I can already anticipate the "Lighten up, Francis" comments this review will get, but believe me for the first 30-45 minutes I was 100% sold on this movie and would have rated it highly. However as it progressed the humor got weaker and the characters didn't change, so I started to check out. It's not a terrible movie, but certainly not one I'd recommend.

(de) wrote: Although not as badass as Coffy or Foxy Brown, Friday Foster is a solid Washington DC conspiracy flick that sees a rather glamorous Pam Grier??s sleuth photographer tracking down Carl Weathers?? heavy assassin. Partnered with Yaphet Kotto??s smiling real cool dude Colt Hawkins; I really enjoyed their banter and was sad to see Grier??s affections wander over to Thalmus Rasulala and Paul Benjamin (she??s a real modern woman!). Enjoy the shoot outs, car wrecks, rooftop chases, and wah wah pedal. Friday Foster delivers where it??s needed. VF.
