Ian R (nl) wrote: A nearly forgotten haunted house classic that holds up well. An under-seen Canadian classic from the tax shelter days that had the unfortunate timing of being released close to The Shining.

Keira R (jp) wrote: I love this little movie!! Carly Schroeder is beyond adorable..and fierce! If you're a girl who played sports growing up, you know how things can be & how people label you. Very inspiring film, it's no blockbuster with intellectual plots but it's a nice, little movie. Enjoyable! And yes, I cried...a little!!!

Rowena A (mx) wrote: Winona lit up the screen but the older women were magnificent. I didn't know them before hand but what a marvelous cast. I loved how their stories all lead to helping her sort her own dilemmas.

David B (fr) wrote: Hilarious, an absolutely unmissable film. If it had been conceived as irony, it would have won Oscars.Unfortuantely, it seems to be serious, in which case it isso bad that it is well worth watching.

Bill T (br) wrote: Although Harvey Fierstein gets on my nerves most of the time, and this movie took some getting used to.. Oddly enough, when Matthew Broderick showed up, I started liking it a lot more, and heck, I started liking Fierstein at the end. So putting in a cute guy resolves everything. Ha ha! Well, not really, but the movie sure wasn't clicking until he showed up!

Eduardo C (ru) wrote: Danton is portrayed as a great heroic patriot of the revolution who end ups going to the guillotine due to the efforts of the evil ruthless Machiavellian Robespierre in this story of the aftermath of the French Revolution. The scene in which Danton and Robespierre meet is nail-biting intense.

luke n (jp) wrote: This is the tale of how good no matter few in number or outsourced and through sheer determination will prevail against evil. There are many examples of courage in this film that manifests itself in a number of different characters and ways, whether it be the Filipino planter who chose to be beaten to death rather than succumb to Japanese interrogation or the Americans who stood and fought for a country they had no involvement in. The movie epitomizes the nature of the diminutive forces of the Filipino resistance against the might of Japan. Although not as esteemed as other war films of its era, it is no less than indispensable for any war film fanatic.

Edward K (jp) wrote: Enjoyed watching this flick just for Charles Laughton(TM)s performance. I thought that just because everyone had an English accent that the plot was an Alternative History (AE) wherein the Nazi's occupied an English Village but was I ever wrong because the film's summary states the location in an unnamed European village. That explains why all the village buildings looked French rather than English.

Jay K (jp) wrote: Ginger Rogers and David Niven star in this warm feelgood romantic comedy about child abandonment. Rogers is fabulous as the "mother" who unwittingly finds herself with a baby for Christmas. Watching her is an absolutel pleasure from beginning to end. She even does an impression of Donald Duck, who appears as a central part of the story to an extent that Disney must have been involved here somewhere. He even gets credited as playing himself. Which is a bit weird. Anyway, a charming film that simply whizzes by, and is almost impossible not to like.

Caitlin L (kr) wrote: Love Cameron and Tom in this movie. Great action movie. Was pleasantly surprised.

Monic T (ag) wrote: Sweet movie, inspirational in a way, but since Jennifer Aniston was there, it's good enough for me.
