(ru) wrote: A really underrated grindhouse classic dealing with a trio of kidnappers who steal away young Candy in hopes of blackmailing her father for a million bucks. Satisfying performances, a brilliant plot-twist that throws a wrench in the gears, and incredibly dark violence, it's a shame The Candy Snatchers isn't more widely recognized as a horror/thriller of its time. Some things are always ripe for rediscovery, though.

Red Skelton develops a crush on showgirl Eleanor Powell, and she marries him out of spite when she is jilted by her fiance. Fair film, uplifted by Skelton's comic antics. Mildly entertaining with a few good songs. It's fun but nothing sensational.

(kr) wrote: This movie sucks. It's a rom-com with very little rom and absolutely no com. Jenny Slate is pretty good, though; someone should put her in a better movie.
