Jeff B (nl) wrote: A sister film to The King of Kong - and almost equally entertaining. More Walter Day and more Billy Mitchell. Catches up with gamers from 1982 and where their lives have taken them. Fun and a bit heartbreaking at the same time.

Darcie C (gb) wrote: Directed by Andre Techine, a respected French filmmaker, Les Egares (Strayed) is at times touching. While I did have some complaints with certain character development, I did enjoy this film. Most of that enjoyment came from Gaspard Ulliel of course as he once again won me over with this role. His beauty captured the screen with every scene he was in and I would love to see him jump around in his red knickers again any day.

Lasse A (br) wrote: A low budget drama about two Vietnam veterans who tries to make a living back in the USA. They each fight with their own nightmares brought back from the war and it doesn't make their friendship easier when one of them is falling in love with the other's sister. De Niro gives a decent performance and so does Ed Harris. However, it's not among my favourite De Niro movies.

But In American for flashing your Bits its bigger fish and you get a bit more than the usual 10 grand ... and invest it in a crappy movie and hope that you will become a big star that way hahah :P There is some method to the review I am writing just seams that way.............OK Lets start the review I seen this a long time ago and was put of by the bad quality and dark-lighting and with a cast of African Americans ( NOT BEING RACIST) it was even harder to see what was going on....... With most movie you watch them over and over again for them goofs as there called but this one i seen them straight away.... TNT not actually kicking a bad guy and the Blonde chick falling out a window relapsed by a mannequin.... the plot is great and the Idea that TNT was in prison before flying to save her brother suggests that there could of been a mini sub plot at the start well two sub plots her escaping from prison as soon as her brother is dead because she gets a sixed scene/ or a letter saying he needs her help.......... she manages to escape and save the day with a nice ending turns out she was arrested under false persistences and than she sets up er own agency than we have a mini series TNT Investigates .... when you watch a bad move you need to take it apart and say where were they going what was there Idea and why didn't it work you cant say its always the cast cause the second sex and the city which was shit done great.....
Amanda (de) wrote: Downhill Racer becomes the best movie ever made about sports -- without really being about sports at all. --Roger Ebert--Robert Redford plays David Chappellet, a cocky, self centered ski racer. His only goal is winning and becoming a champion. He clashes with his coach and teammates. He seems incapable of friendships, relationships, and even communicating with anyone. In the end, Chappellet conquers his goal.
Paul Z (nl) wrote: What I enjoyed most about this inexplicable Yugoslavian film was the source of pleasure in watching a movie filmed on grainy, imprecise celluloid stock. Every scene hums with that lovely old-fashioned atmosphere of maddeningly strenuous traditional film-making. We can sense the boom mikes, the film reel, the guys with big, uncomfortable headphones, and the director with a big vision that frustrates him by communication breakdown, as the outcome of his film is a bewilderingly ambiguous celluloid mishmash of sex, young lovers, totalitarian Yugoslavia, and nonlinear narrative structure. And as such, it is a joy! It splurges and has fun! In one hour and nine minutes, its main thread, concerning a Hungarian switchboard operator who meets and falls in love with a Muslim who soon moves into her apartment much to the jealous chagrin of an imposing postal worker, intruding some touching intercuts of archive footage that give impressions of lives ensnared in totalitarian society, a brief history of how the gray rat infested Europe, and a sexologist in his study talking about the history of sex. Even the central train of thought is deconstructed into ambiguity as, seemingly at the same time, the police are investigating the drowning of a young woman.Director Dusan Makavejev seems to have simply made a multi-faceted montage of Yugoslavia and reflections based on its time, 1967. In spite of its self-indulgence, as was a common limitation of progressive European art-house films of the time, it is very enjoyable.

Will L (it) wrote: 'Let Us Prey' is a contained horror flick that deftly blends supernatural terror with savage, grueling violence. It deals with a lot of traditional horror themes, but tackles them with a modern edge, and the cast is able to pull it off nicely. I found it extremely satisfying.
