Geoff P (ag) wrote: Not near as laugh out loud funny as Broken Lizard's other films such as Super Troopers and Beerfest, but funny none the less. The rugby game at the end was hilarious though.

Sarah C (mx) wrote: I really enjoyed this movie,it may have had low budget and mostly unknown actors, but this is what gave it charm and character. Its a great Canadian movie. Would watch again!

Kriselda J (ru) wrote: One of the most moving films I've seen. The movie really opened my eyes to what was happening in the early years of AIDS and provoked a curiosity in me to try and learn more. The performances are solid and even when I'm reading other books about the subject, I can frequently still see or hear the actor in the text. Quite simply, I highly reccomend this movie for educational, historical, sociological and artistic purposes.

Josh W (gb) wrote: A very zany, unpredictable movie that masterfully blends completely opposite genres effortlessly to create one of the more unique gems of the 1980s.

Mark P (ca) wrote: Not as bad a movie as the reveiws say, not a great movie but watchable withe several very funny moments.

Steve S (ca) wrote: Shocking and suprising documentary about the Beale women. Mother and daughter and relatives of Jackie O., who live a ghost version of their earlier lives in an old broken down house in the Hamptons. The interaction between the two is classic, revealing some harsh moments with love and pain.

Matt M (us) wrote: A group of four geologists sets out to the Siberian forests looking in a desperate search for diamonds. Having found them and drawn up a map, the four have to fight forest fires and terrible natural conditions for return home safe and sound. There are dramatic elements that keep this story interesting on a narrative scale. But what is truly remarkable is the constantly moving wonderful cinematography that adds intensity and rhythm to the story which, as it progresses, changes from realist to impressionistic.

Ricardo O (mx) wrote: Buster Keaton plays Willie Canfield, the wimpy son of a big and tough steamboat captain "Steamboat Bill" Canfield (Ernest Torrence) who has returned home from going to school in Boston. When Steamboat Bill isn't trying to teach his son how to become a man, he is often carrying on a feud with his rival John James King (Tom McGuire), the owner of another fancy boat. Willie falls in love with King's daughter Mary King (Marlon Byron). The two of them try to have their fathers make amends, but it just seems impossible once Bill is jailed for punching King. Willie tries to bust his dad out of jail but only winds up in the hospital while trying to escape from the police. While Willie is lying in a hospital bed, a cyclone hits town, knocking down any buildings in the way. When he wakes up, Willie tries his best to stand up against all the wind. Through hugging a tree truck that goes flying in the wind, he makes it to the waterfront where he proves his manhood by rescuing his father, his love, and her father. It may not be the best of Buster Keaton's classics but it's still very much a joy to watch, as all of his films are. The first half is mostly character development with a few gags here and there but what makes this a brilliant film is the final 20 minutes where a cyclone takes over the town, tearing apart each building and throwing houses into the air. The most iconic image, and probably of Keaton's entire career, is a dangerous stunt where the front of a house falls right on top of him but he is able to make it out as someone conveniently left a window open. It's a really funny movie that shows off Buster Keaton's great craftsmanship as a filmmaker. Essential viewing. 10/10
