(de) wrote: WTF?? It's the Vincent Cassel show....a group of friends disappear from trouble at a Parisian nightclub and end up at a country estate to see where one of their new found friends comes from. it's all fun and games until....until....well I really don't have a fucking clue what is going on. It seems that there is some kind of Rosemary's Baby type of shit going down. Quite a stupid film and just way too weird to make much sense. Cassel is so over the top it is quite funny and the group of friends are so unlikeable you don't care if anything bad happens to them.

It could also just be so cliche it's hard to sit through without spacing out. This is one of those movies where it isn't really bad, just afraid to do anything different or pull a few risks. Everything here we've seen before, and a lot better done. If I had to sum up this film in a sentence, I'd say it's like an afterschool special released in theaters, only more positive.

(au) wrote: I was curious about this film project from the moment I first heard about the concept years ago and only now after the fact do I regret watching the two hour combined version of the "Her" and "Him" stories. This is merely an assumption but I'm guessing the separate versions of the story and the comparison/contrast between them are actually what makes this project so special. This combo film version isn't terrible - its actually quite well-acted and put together - it just isn't anything unique. While watching it I felt like I had seen this kind of divorce story before and it failed to truly move me.Hopefully one day I'll be able to revisit the "Him" and "Her" versions of the story but based on my reaction to this it's definitely not at the top of my to-do list.
