My problem is that this starts off as a really funny satire, but as it goes on, it just becomes a movie about faith and challenging fundamentalism. Also, it kind of just...ends. You know prom night is going to be the big climactic scene, and it gets there and a whole bunch of stuff happens and then the movie is over. It was just wasn't a satisfying ending. One more thing. I'm sorry. She must have been carrying Jesus or something because there is absolutely no way that she could have hid a baby bump for nine whole months, no matter how baggy the clothes are. Once she got to 7-9 months, her stomach was still tiny, like how it would look at like 5-6, so all that was just really unrealistic to me. So, while this does have its funny moments thanks to its cast, it was just meh for me.
Adam A (ru) wrote: This was a waste of 83 minutes. I thought that it would be an interesting character study, but in the end it failed to go anywhere. It did seem to be even handed with its handling of the subject matter. It was not judgmental or harsh with the characters but left their actions up for the viewer to make their choice on how to feel about it. I just did not feel that the movie brought anything new to the table. I also have HUGE problems with any stories that involve sex with 15-year-olds. That is something I always have a hard time wrapping my mind around.

Lisa G (ca) wrote: Vote that I liked it, if only for the fantastic musicians and holiday music throughout. The plot is been there, done that, someone dies so I don't like the holidays theme but an angel shows me the way to happiness. Really trite. but Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett make beautiful music.

Stephanie H (jp) wrote: This was a major human interest story gone a little bit wrong. Think about the premise, true story about the Holocaust and Gustave klipmt, what the hell could be better?..especially when yoy see Helen Mirren, Daniel Bruhl??...what ruined this movie was Ryan Reynolds, and our little Orphan Black. ..other than the casting debaucle, and a little bit of overdramatization...this was a great movie.
