The Forgotten Woman
Inspired by the 2006 Academy Award® nominee for Best Foreign Language film, "Water," this documentary tells the story of some of the 20 million Indian widows who are abandoned by their families and literally turned out into the streets when their husbands died. (nl) wrote: Funny and v well-acted biopic of the last years of Liberace, and in particular his relationship with Scott Thorson. The counter-intuitive casting of Michael Douglas and Matt Damon pays real dividends and Soderbergh really captures the sleazy mirror ball of seventies Las Vegas and the loneliness of extreme wealth.
(it) wrote: Maybe I'm biased since I recognised a lot of the places where this was filmed. Good story, good characters in Charley and Jamie. Builds-up well to a powerful and affecting ending. All the better for not having loads of money spent on it.

(br) wrote: Great story being told by the spectacular Pixar company. The characters are funny and lovable, the plot is engaging and originally, and most of all the love for this movie holds up strongly to this day. It's obviously a Disney Classic and deserves that title.

(de) wrote: Such an ethereal and deserted opening. Listening to the music and watching the physical performances stirs the soul, bringing tears. It was extremely sad to see a great musician deteriorate into uncontrollable pain (both physically and emotionally). A wonderful and talented ensemble cast.

(br) wrote: It's not Shakespeare, but it is a decent offering of kaiju hijinks. The best thing going for this movie is the meta weirdness of its villain Doctor Hu. Eisei Amamoto chews the scenery delightfully. Then add onto that the fact that he's dubbed by Paul Frees using his Burgomeister Meisterburger voice. And he actually came into this movie from a King Kong cartoon show. On the flip side, there are some moments where they are clearly using miniatures instead of guys in rubber suits and they really don't come off well, even by kaiju movie standards.
(br) wrote: Such a hilarious musical comedy, it's charming and enjoyable, and has a great cast of not so well known actors. The story is just what it says, a young guy gets a book with the same title as the movie, and follows the steps to quickly climb the corporate ladder with so much ease, that it's ridiculous. This makes fun of the corporate workplace and job hunting. I loved it, and I highly recommend it.
(jp) wrote: Decent crime drama set against a Saigon 1968 backdrop. Willem Dafoe is his usual awesome self, and Gregory Hines impressed me. Not Lethal Weapon or anything, but a good 2 hours.
(ca) wrote: I know a lot of people didn't like this one, but I didn''t think it was bad. I enjoyed it, and the least amount of people die in this one. It makes me mad that the people traped are so stupid and didn't work together.
