Stuart K (ru) wrote: A quite charming British comedy from Handmade Films. Michael Palin wrote the film, and stars in it as the Reverend Charles Fortescue, who after 10 years in Africa, returns home to 1906 England, where he is asked by the Bishop of London, (Denholm Elli...(read more) ot), to start up a Mission for London's Fallen Women, (AKA Prostitutes). Fortescue finds a backer for the Mission in the form of Lady Isabel Ames (Maggie Smith), wife of old curmudgeon Lord Ames (Trevor Howard). Lady Ames agrees to finance it if Fortescue sleeps with her, but he's already engaged to Deborah Fitzbanks (Phoebe Nicholls). It's very close in tone to Palin's own Ripping Yarns, and one might argue it could have worked better as one, but on the whole it works, it's beautifully shot, and it does have some very funny moments in it, director Richard Loncraine keeps the tone up throughout the film, and it does have a very good supporting cast, including Timothy Spall, David Suchet, Neil Innes and a scene-stealing Michael Hordern as the Ames' forgetful old butler Slatterthwaite. :P

David S (mx) wrote: Is somewhat in the vein of Pacino's Looking for Richard documentary, discussing motivations for the play and its author, but Theater lacks that film's energy and enthusiasm.

Alex G (nl) wrote: Does not deserve a single star, is one of those movies you leave the movie theater annoyed by the classic stupid victims of the mad murderer, that even with a gun in their hands won't use it because of their fear, besides the murderer in this case is not a hulk like Michael Myers, and three victims can not subdue an elderly woman.

James K (ru) wrote: This is one of my all time favorites, I love this movie! I just rented it yesterday and can't wait to watch it, it's been like 8 years or so since I last saw it!

Charlie G (it) wrote: This movie was rather pleasant and amusing. A battle between corporate mongers who wish to control the people. Also with a little rags to riches ploy. Nice ending.

Jeff B (de) wrote: Rockier than the first two chapters but still packing a lot of fist-pumping punch, part III takes the franchise into more commercial waters yet remarkably still makes the audience root for the character. Mirroring the tides of success in his personal life, Stallone's second Rocky sequel finds the character getting caught up in the fame and riches that come along with a championship belt only for a bout with humbleness to knock him back to his senses. With this over-the-top and flashy chapter, the franchise - and character - earn all of the lampoons sure to follow, but the pure boxing spectacle and continuing underdog drama are truly something to behold. In this PG-rated sports drama, world champion Rocky Balboa falls into a hole and finds himself picked up by a former enemy. Stallone and Shire fly on auto-pilot, sure-footed as the lovebirds getting, wait for it, one more shot. Carl Weathers, meanwhile, aptly advances Apollo Creed from showy opponent to driving force when he becomes Rocky's trainer. Given this arc, his character becomes as interesting a player in the franchise as the Italian Stallion himself. While Hulk Hogan hams it up as wrestler Thunderlips in an exhibition match, Mr. T likewise goes big but manages to make the menace tangible, ending up to be Rocky's most memorable opponent second to Apollo. Bottom line: Glass-Jawed Angels

Borhan K (de) wrote: I'll Follow You Down is a science fiction drama about a scientist that discovers the ability to time travel and he hoes off an never comes back and disappears with no explanation. The movies main topic is about what are the consequences that occur if you are absent from true reality or if you try to tweak it.The movie is quite well done slow at times its like watching a novel but totally worth it if you like science fiction flicks.I classify this as the drama version of Back to the Future. This movie has Haley Joel Osment in it the child that saw dead people with Bruce Willis. Haley is all grown up and now is playing in a very good movie and has not lost his touch. The cast is small but the movie is a sleeper. This movie although on flixster ha no rating i would say 15 and over as the subject matter is quite adult and the story line goes deep and dark in places.

The movie made me laugh at some points, it made me jump back into my seat at other points. It's right behind the original Friday the 13th and A nightmare on Elm Street as one of my favorite Halloween films of all time.
