Jesse O (au) wrote: I thought my 700th review on this here website would have been something a little more significant, but no, instead it's just low budget thriller flick. But to be honest, I didn't dislike this movie at all, it's ok at best. I really wanted to hate this movie, but something about it intrigued me and I'm not sure what it was. Though, unlike The Signal which had a $50,000, this movie SCREAMS low-budget and the budget of this film was estimated to be $5,000,000 so yea. It just looks and feels like a low-budget thriller, there's nothing fancy about the cinematography, the setting, the costume design. With that said, like I said, there's something about this movie that intrigued me and it held my attention. It also helps that this movie is like 75 minutes long, so it's a movie that's easy to watch. Marisa Tomei has definitely improved to the point where she's actually a really good actress and she really tries her best here and it sort of raises the movie a level higher than it would have been otherwise. But her character is unlikeable and the dialogue she's given is poor. Therefore, no matter how hard Marisa tried, this movie is still OK. But then again, that's still better than I expected. Plus it helped I watched this movie, again, free On Demand, so I wasn't offended by it because I didn't have to pay for it. So I can't really recommend it, but there's worse ways to spend 75 minutes (IE: Watching Frankenstein 1994 version).

Steve G (nl) wrote: Dracula II: Ascension is supposedly a sequel to Dracula 2000 but the only element of the first movie which is referenced in any way is the very final scene where it appeared that Dracula was killed. Of course monsters never stay dead with sequels on the line. The only scenes I enjoyed in this movie were the ones featuring Jason Scott Lee as a vampire-hunting priest. The rest of the cast was forgettable as was the weak plot.

Zachary K (es) wrote: preposterously underrated by seemingly everyone in the film critic world, this intelligent and powerful thriller is driven by an intriguing plot and truly excellent performances (with ed harris turning in possibly his greatest work portraying a vicious psychopath) and has surprises to spare. connery and fishburne complement each other very well, and the story will keep viewers interested. unfairly judged and pitifully (and unjustly) crititcized by professionals, this one definitely deserves a viewing despite what even the world's most famous critics say about it.

Shawn W (ru) wrote: The Sentinels high school student policing group evolves into something close to a vigilante squad targeting undesireable students. Graffiti is down noticeably but the bathroom walls are now far less informative on where to find a good time.

Keith M (ru) wrote: This is a "documentary" which bascially allows for clips from almost every major horror film up to 1983 to be shown....GREAT's basically a horror highlight reel.

Hayden W (kr) wrote: Still one of the most utterly watchable movies ever. Its fun every time you see it.

Karl M (ca) wrote: What's really fascinating about this movie's action is how real it feels. In most movies, anyone who gets shot just falls down with a blood stain. Here, visible suffering raises the stakes of revenge and survival in a meaningful way.

Chris L (ru) wrote: It's got all the elements of the classic Indiana Jones saga, but somehow lacks the ability to avoid applicable criticism. The familial elements feel cheap rather than natural as they did with Indy's father in Last Crusade. And the overabundance of obviously computer enhanced effects already feels more dated than some of the classically aged sequences of the original trilogy. Hearing Spielberg and Lucas's logic behind the intentions here makes sense in theory; mainly aligning Ford's age with the appropriate era's sci-fi obsession. Ultimately this is a good example of the sum of the parts not quite adding up.

Andrew U (br) wrote: It's their best effort since Date Movie if that means anything. A good cast saves this from being completely unwatchable.
