Jeff N (fr) wrote: My lifelong attraction to Patty Duke (don't ask), the clear allure of the late Sharon Tate and this film's cult status couldn't get me to care one second about this campy look at Hollywood starlets and what I hope are exaggerations, though I admittedly couldn't stop thinking about Lindsay Lohan. If the book is as long and drawn out as the film, I happily admit to only seeing the movie. It was beating enough.

Facebook U (mx) wrote: The film is tolerable but its construction is not helping. Is it a story inside a story or not? There are some good points and some bad points. We see many errors by many characters. Nice exercise but not a top film. Very nice bits in France, filmed in Canada! Beautiful girls. Totally watchable but also annoying.
Jeff W (jp) wrote: Above average Giallo that deals with the always fun subject of girls getting knives rammed up their cooch. Of course the ending comes way out of left field, but honestly who can hold that against this type of film. The soundtrack and cast on this one are both pretty good.
Tommy H (us) wrote: It's a nice, old fashion western. John Wayne is his typical self, but he plays it with a bit more conviction than what I'm use to. He became more lovable later on in his career, but back in the day he was great at playing the hardass, lone wolf type, even when part of a group. He acts almost like a villain, but he means well. The character was cemented in The Searchers, when you look at the relationship between Wayne and his best friend who he called "half-breed." People may not appreciate John Wayne that much today, but back in the day he played a role both old timers and a steadily more progressive, young culture could identify with. Here his character is a bit more conflicted, which is a nice touch. It's a solid film, besides the romance scenes. They were kind of goofy and contrary to the mood of the rest of the film. I didn't mind it for the most part. One scene toward the end bothered me a little. There was drama and suspense in the scene, then the lady stepped in and things went from dark to cute instantly. I didn't mind the romance when it wasn't messing with the overall plot. But it did add a spark to the somewhat dreary mood up to that point so I guess it was a necessary annoyance.
