Although The Story Is Similar, This Entry Is Still Enjoyable & Bronson Still Kicks-Ass The Only Way He Can. Based In L.A., This Film Features Simplistic Politics, Hard Kicking Action & A Great Rock Score From Led Zepplin's Jimmy Page & Is Considered A Classic In My Eyes.

Bob W (mx) wrote: I originally saw this with a group of friends in high school. We were very excited given how frightening the original was. But this was pretty much obvious and slasher film trope territory. As I recall, we all ended up bored with the film and it hasn't improved with age. The script should have been sent to this hospital setting dead on arrival.

Mateus Z (us) wrote: A faithful and powerful adaptation of G 1/4nter Grass' masterpiece, Die Blechtrommel is one of the last great works of the German New Wave that saw a proliferation of brilliant German auteurs (Werner Herzog, Rainer Fassbinder, Wim Wenders to name a few). Schlndorff captures the historical complexities of the time and space, and adds to them a level of psychological and allegorical sophistication from Grass' book that to many seemed to be impossible to translate to the language of the screen. The film also provides a good lesson in film history to all those claiming that modern cinema has reached unprecedented levels of depravity in its representations of sex and violence- Die Blechtrommel can still shock a modern audience and show that we've already been there (and beyond) and done that (and more).

Amanda D (br) wrote: Stuck in Love is, for the most part, your typical Romantic Comedy. It just has a better soundtrack than most. There is nothing overly great about this film, yet it is still a great watch. If anything, it's a great comfort movie for when you're not in the mood for a mind-blowing, brain-busting film.

Kirtsen Dunst doesn't do too well here, not sure whether she is supposed to play the friend or the villian, and Paul Bettany starts to become too ladidah by the end. Their are some spectacular camera views, such as when the camera tracks a tennis ball's set path across the court, which was beautiful to watch, and their is some chemistry between the leads, but it doesn't feel like enough. And I don't know what Sam Neill was doing in the role as Dunst's father, but he was still okay for a wasted character. and Paul Battany's character's parents were funny to watch hate then love eachother. A predictable romance which ends wince-inducingly, but was at the lvery least sort of satisfying.
