(br) wrote: SICK-ASSED HORROR FROM 1980 directed by Joe D'Amato. AWESOME MUSIC BY GOBLIN!!!! I saw this here in the United States in 1990 on THRILLER VIDEO (even though it came-out on Thriller Video way back in 1985) from BLOCKBUSTER VIDEO in Florence, South Carolina. Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) hosted the Thriller Video series yet refused to host BURIED ALIVE (aka BUIO OMEGA) and MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY (aka CANNIBAL FEROX) because each film was too violent--now, I don't blame her, back in 1985 I thought it was pussy to chicken-out from hosting "violent film." The guy in BURIED ALIVE "taxidermies" his murdered-wife then proceeds to cannibalize and taxidermy other victims as well . . . and then throws the corpses into a crematory-oven where the dead-bodies' nerve-ending cause the bodies to spasmodically leap-about in the ovens. DISGUSTING!!!!!! and then "The Guy" has an incestuous affair with his aunt sucking her boobs and stuff AND THEN "The Guy" has a moment of necrophilia with his dead wife and a hapless jogger whom he bites the throat out of. GROSSSS. SICK. DISGUSTING. ABOMINABLE. APPALLING. What attracts me to this? I grew-up in a funeral home . . .

(ru) wrote: Early giallo thriller from Dario Argento which is clearly influenced by the American producers so lacks some of his usual style in favour of characterisation and a rather over cooked plot. Despite this its good and has some trademark Argento flourishes.
(ca) wrote: Susan Hayward is quite good in this melodrama bout a would be nightclub singer who gives up her career to we a breakout radio star. Hayward has many trials and tribulations, mainly the consequences of alcoholism, but her performance is enough to carry the film. Eddie Albert is also quite good in a smarmy supporting role.
(ag) wrote: Another inspiring tale from the master. Gary Cooper is brilliant.
(ag) wrote: Very boring plot line.
(jp) wrote: Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston are brilliant, but i didn't like it so much. Despite, this is still an enjoyable movie.
(us) wrote: Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand has good chemistry, and there are some funny moments, but some moments really drag on and make this movie feel longer than 95 minutes B+
(gb) wrote: hmm i did not like this; it's eye opening because it's a true story... but as far as movie-wise, i have to agree with some other reviews i read -- it's slow & sometimes all the yelling/talking gave me a headache.
